Don't believe the writeups about the image burning into the TV. I own this TV and have never had any such problems with it. It's crystal clear and problem free. The picture quality is amazing. Good as any other HD TV out there. Agreed it's not the best TV but for $500 you can't beat it. If you want the best picture on a 42" HD TV then plan on spending twice that if not more.
The only dissapointment I have is that there is no Audio out jacks to hook it up to my entertainment system. Also, there is no SD card to view camera pictures and movies. And there is only one AV jack which means if you want to view pics from your camera then you will need to dissconnect your DVD. A bit of a bummer but still a good deal for $500.
