the AVG antivirus free edition is not bad for what you pay for. it will keep the bugs away MOST of the time. but beware, it will let in spam that is associated with AVG (but this is normal from any Anti-virus tho) I do however think that this is one of the best FREE Anti-virus on the market.
Paid for McAfee, paid for Norton they scared me into buying. AVG was recommended by a friend and it has been all I've needed the past 6 years. Wonderful product, worth way much more than you pay for it!
I have used AVG free for years. It doesn't bog down my pcs like Norton Antivirus does. It's kept my pc and several laptops virus free for years, and with lots of surfing that can be a challenge. AVG handles it easily.
