Will not turn on only beeps once

I tried to start the dehumidifier and no luck. It does not turn on and only beeps once. I checked the bucket and outlet. Any suggestions

You didn't mention which brand it is, but I had a similar problem with my Danby dehumidifier and it was a sensor that was not being activated properly by the bucket being in place. When I called Danby, they told me how to bend one of the parts to be sure the bucket would activate the sensor and allow the unit to run. Good luck.
