I bought this washer to replace a Kenmore that I'd had about 15 years. I thought a front load would be good, energy efficient, and would move to our new home in a few months. After 4 months, I'm ready to give it up. The dials do not stay on cycle. Because of the location of my washer and dryer hookups, which are reverse of what is apparently the new standard, I was hoping that I could reverse the door to open left to right instead of right to left. This means that everything has to be lifted over the door to go into my Kenmore dryer that opens down. This is a pain, esp. for a senior...
read full review »This is the best machine I have ever had! No more Kenmore products for me. They don't last and I've spent too much money in repairs. However, with the Amana, it's quiet and washes very well. My clothes come out clean! The dial is a bit sensitive but that's nothing to complain about. The drum is huge. I can fit tons of stuff in there and it washes like a dream. It's energy efficient, doesn't need a lot of water. I use my regular detergent and works great.
We bought this washer with the matching dryer in October 2009. We decided on the Amana washer and dryer because they got good reviews in **************** for energy efficient washer and dryers in the lower price range. We ordered online with no problems and delivery was quick, easy, and done by very professional Sears employees. We have been very pleased with both the washer and dryer so far. The washer does a great job of getting stains and dirt out of clothes and is very quiet. Delivery & setup was awesome - w/in 2 days & w/in 2 hr. window. built like a tank - has all the features you want/need - including wrinkle control and auto-temperature control for your water.
