I have had it for about 12 years and it still works like the first day. Can defrost a roast, ham or turkey in it, so it's worth the extra space it takes.
We are very please with this microwave and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good counter top range.
We had a previous Amana Radarange that lasted for 12 years without a problem until a door sensor switch went bad. It probably could have been repaired inexpensively, but because prices are so incredibly low on new microwave appliances sold today we just didn't bother getting in fixed. Since we had such good service from the last Radarange we bought a new Amana 1.4 cf model. Wow, I didn't think they could improve on the old one but it appears they have: more powerful, reheat feature, kitchen timer and more
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this microwave! It is extremely quiet. You almost can't tell it's on while it is in use. It has a pleasant "chime" sound when you press the buttons, not an annoying loud "beeping" sound like you would expect. Good mid-size microwave. Not too big and not too little, both on the inside and out. The automatic popcorn button works great. It takes the guess work out of the popping time so you don't end up with burnt popcorn. This has been the best microwave ever. It's such a workhorse. I've had this same micro for more than 10 yrs...... It's a super product and thinking I may have for another 10 yrs the way its been reviewed. I'd buy this model again when needed.
