Apple - iPhone 3G —
So I was a smart phone user - Cingular 8525 to be exact, and thought he iPhone was just a toy. I bought one for my son and called it a day. Well, after my 2nd windows reboot and having the thing just totally crap out on me after less than two years I headed to ATT. To replace my windows version smart phone I was going to have to pay over $499, but the 16 Gig 3G iPhone was only $299. That worked for me. Pros - love the interface and the fact that there are a good number of apps. No more windows media player. iTunes is as big of a monopoly as windows, but hey - I like the ease of use. Cons - if you actually use those apps be next to a computer or wall outlet as your battery is not going to last. It also gets HOT like a laptop. HATE the typing interface and really miss my slide out keyboard. Also won't work with a sylus so you have no choice but to use your hands and if you have tips on your nails you have to use the pads of your fingers which is quite a trick. Other than that I am really happier than I thought I would be - that is when I can get my 8 year old daughter off of it! OH - for the dock I bought the JBL dual dock from Walmart for $99.00 - MUCH better than the iHome or Sony versions and cheaper too. ALSO HATE the ear phones and my blue tooth headphones do not work with it which is a real bummer. Having to be corded again is no fun on the elliptical. Maybe some day that will be a fix.
