LockedHow many guys do laundry?

posted on December 28, 2009 at 10:02AM Inappropriate?

Around here the kids started doing their own laundry as teenagers, so the boy had a headstart on using dorm machines. I often do the bath towels and sometimes a load of jeans. Hmmm...Husband and Wife, or Man and Wife?

Laundry? What's that? O_o

LOL! JK. I do laundry at my house if the wifey isn't feeling well. :) It's not tough at all. We have a stackable whirpool model that looks like it might have been best friends with a dinosaur but it works like a charm. It's incredibly quiet too. O_o

My wife will kill me if I do the laundry. However, she never had a dishwasher growing up and isn't so hot at loading it, so the dishwasher's mine, the washer's hers. :)

I help with the laundry, but I don't know how to run the dishwasher. ;)

I have a dishwasher and have never used it to this day. Nothing like good ol' fashion dish scrubbin' for me. At least I can be sure that my dishes will get cleaned the way I like 'em. :)

This is a good thread, madgolfer!  I am going to chime in for my husband.  He does not throw anything into the washer, or dryer, but, will fold when I drop the basket in front of him while watching TV.  I think that's pretty good!

Nothing like teamwork! :) It's easy to get a guy to do anything as long as he has a TV in front of him. LOL!

Today has a little twist to it, a load of socks with two pair of the wifes jeans which will require early withdrawal or face the wrath of overdrying, "Have I gained weight?" Permanent press cycle to start....

Edited: ...Then hung to a drip-dry finish.

Mmm...scorched clothing...amazing. No Moisture Sensor in your dryer? O_o

Well the Army Barracks and College Dorms really helped me learn how to do my own laundry.

I'm still doing mostly my own washing and drying at home.

All I know about is the top-loader washers though, with just a little bit of experience from using the Laundry Mat's heavy-duty front-loading machines for big stuff.

I hate doing chores so i always screw them up whenever my wife forces me to do them, so she never asks for my help again. Laundry is easy, just wash her red panties with her whites. Or iron her silk stockings.

Making dinner mac and cheese :) Put the cheese in after you put in the water, or burn the pancakes, or dont oil the bread pan so it all tears apart.

Dishes? just leave large chunks of food on them and complain about hte dishwasher being ******.

If theres a chore, I can mess it up, and believe me, after you mess it up the first time the wife never gives you the "responsibility" of it again.

LOL! Mine gives me the responsibility of doing it again regardless if I mess it up or not. The only difference is that I get to hear about how bad I did if I messed up for about 3 hours while I'm doing it over again. So I figured it's best to do it right the first time. :)

I do the laundry...lol mostly cause I'm not married yet and if I don't do it don't think anyone else would.

I know I wouldn't! ^_^

It's good to be "independant". Women like that in a guy...

Well, lets see...My Ma did my laundry for me till I was about 17 yrs. old. Ever since then it's been up to me. Even each time I was married, I did my own laundry and they did theirs. I will admit however I HATE doing laundry with a passion. For the last 12 years I did not have a machine in the house. So I learned a little secret... don't do it! Hey, I didn't do laundry for 3 years. No, I never wore or used anything dirty. I just simply went out and bought more clothes, towels, sheets etc. It's alot easier that way. Now,fortunately we have a machine where I'm living. So when I moved in, I did 39 loads of laundry and everything came out fine and dandy. Impriovisation my dude peeps!! Lol!

My husband does most of his own laundry.  Mostly because when I ask him to bring (or even just throw) his dirty stuff down the stairs so I can combine to make full loads, he doesn't.  So I end up just washing my own and he washes his own.  He's not allowed to do my laundry because I wash most of my stuff on gentle and cool temps and he throws everything into one load on hot.  So we're pretty happy to do our own.  Right now he has a broken arm though so I'm doing all the laundry, full loads, correct temps, and that's a good thing.
