I'm unsure of the process for Sears Commercial, but I do know that in our stores you may add on the Master Protection Agreement within 30 days of the purchase at the same price. However, if it is added at a later date (Let's say 3 months from now), the cost of the MPA might rise slightly.

I would get in contact with Sears Parts and Repair at 1-800-469-4663 and ask them about adding a MPA onto your product.

Hope this helps.

Call the Sears contractors back and have them try to add it first. It might be easier for you. And good choice on the protection, it's a good idea to have the coverage

I agree. Call Sears Contractor Sales. They'll be the best people to answer that question, as their business is relatively independent of the rest of regular Sears.

Listen very carefully and document who you spoke with at Sears the story from their "reps" changes depending on the rep. Sears has no consistency!

It's 2 weeks through regular stores. I don't know if it's different for the contractor stores.

It might vary from location to location. I work at a FLS store and we always do 30 days after purchase. Might depend on the store manager.

Every meeting I've gone to or read notes on said 2 weeks.  Maybe it is different for FLS and Grands/Essentials, as I know BlueCrewGuy works in Essentials and I work in a Grand, but I'm pretty sure the protection agreement toolkit even says two weeks.

you are correct 2 weeks

posted on May 25, 2009 at 07:29PM

yes, two weeks is correct.  The customer must call 1-800-469-4663 to be transfered to the warranty dept.  The store cannot "legally" add on the warranty after 14 days.  Even a re-ring in the store can be traced and penalized!

That is a good question! I have a detailed analysis of exactly what it does (as it relates to appliances) on my blog: randywanat.blogspot.com. You can also find lots of information about the protection agreements at sears.com (scroll to the bottom, at the right there is a link for protection agreements).
