I went to the store to buy a matching dryer for my washer that I bought at sears. I have the LG steam washer with the round door. When I went to the store they were having a "sale" because LG came up with the new steam washer and dryer with the square door. I know that there's a different models, but 2 days early I was at Home Depot and saw an offer for the new one for around $900 so I figure that the old model will be less. The prices they gave me at Sears didn't make any sense so a made a trip back to Home Depot to check. They didn't have the old model to match my LG round door but they offer me the new one for $1071,60 with shipping, tax and installation. So I went back to Sears to check the same model and get the price match plus the 10 percent of. For my surprise the difference was $500 for the exactly the same model. They refused to price match because they did not believe me even thought I had the print out from Home Depot. After purchasing my dryer at Home Depot I went to the store to show them my invoice and ask for the store manager to please give me a call. 4 month later still waiting for the call. So be aware of Sears and do your homework before you buy and don't trust any of the store advertisement. Hope this will help somebody.

Was the attempted price match on the exact same model number? Or was the model number from the competitor slightly different?
Why would that matter?
Sears price match policy pretty clearly states that it only has to be the same manufacturer with the same features to get the price match - only in home electronics does the model number have to match exactly.
I've never had a problem matching anyone's price in my experience at Sears, nor have i had any problems with Sears matching a price for me.
