I have a Kenmore Dishwasher with the clean light flashing seven times.  I have checked everything that I can.  Still cannot get light to go off or the dishwasher to work.  Need help as to the problem.  I have checked the heater coil and that was all the books told me to do.  Help

the panel is flashing seven times indicating a problem heating the water, reset the control by running self diagnostics. there are buttons on the panel labeled options press the left one then the right then left and then right, all the lights will come on and the computer will run a diagnostic and clear the code after completion.. Be sure the water heater has a full tank of hot water before running the cycle. If problem persists check the heat element in the bottom

Possible causes of insufficient temperature rise would include wires off at the control, heating element, thermistor, inlet valve, door switch, motor or capacitor, failure of any of the above components or siphoning of the water during fill.

The most common cause I have found is low water circulation due to debris in the sump blocking water flow.
