Not if it is manufatured by LG or an LG product that is rebranded under a differnet name.

Convection is great for baking, as it not only provides better results, but allows for multiple pans of cookies or other goods to be cooked at the same time with increased speed.

It's also good for things like turkeys, so the skin comes out nice and golden brown.

Convection ovens have started getting much more popular as more people are cooking at home, and as people are trying to make their kitchens more desirable places to work (not to mention for resale value).

Older convection ovens required you to do some temperature and time conversions. New models, however, can do this through their digital controls. You just enter the recipe's time and temperature, and choose the convection level you want, and you can have the range do the math for you. Some will even alert you when the time is 75% done, so you can check in on it.

There's really no downside to convection, and the positives are very positive. I've yet to hear of someone going from convection down to a conventional oven.

Convection oven are wonderful, if they work. My 8 month old Kenmore refuses to work properly so I don't suggest you get one of those.

How is your range misbehaving? If your range is not working properly, call 800 4 MY HOME (469 4663) and have a Sears repair technician take care of it. It's still under the manufacturer's warranty. If you have a Master Protection Agreement, be sure to take advantage of the annual preventive maintenance checks, too, so the thermostat can be recalibrated, and all functional parts and controls can be inspected and repaired/replaced, if necessary.
