Works well with moderate use. You can find replacement bulbs using this part number at M&D mower parts or Norwalk power equipment (925-04913B), OR you can upgrade to 35 watt bulb and internet search H3 bulbs...Took a while researching, hope this helps!

This light kit is easy to install, but the bulbs constantly blow right after installing. Company support was not helpful. So really don't purchase as you will get no use out of it. Waste of money. Maybe a higher wattage bulb would work, but don't know at this point. Manufacturer should have corrected...

Not well made!!!

I had read the reveiws and thought that something must be wrong with the way it was being installed!!

I put mine on just the way instructed get the snowthower running and the light flashed and then burnt out!!

I went to my local auto parts store and got an H3 bulb for $7.00 but have since found it for $4.00. So far it has worked fine. Shut it off and started several time and it lights every time. The idea of the light is great. I don't know why you can only find one kit made by one company. I don't know why Craftsman doesn't offer a light that will actually work as the snowthower is made for one....

I just got my new craftsman 24 inch dual stage snow thrower and got it all put together. Then I added the light kit exactly how it says to connect it in the provided instructions. I then started the snow thrower for the first time and the light lit for about two seconds and then died never to light again. If I could have given this product zero stars I would have since it is complete junk.

Amazing that we all are having the same issue!...and yet Sears and Arnold continue to manufacture such low-rent quality with a Town House price!

Same deal...attached to snowblower, made connections as specified, put choke on engine, started engine, light comes on 5 seconds, as soon as I take it off choke to turn up the RPM's...light goes out...Just dead!  I understand that people are doing what it takes to get it to work for them and that is a good thing, but my argument is that for $40, we shouldn't have to!

What a raw deal!

I bought this same light from ****** (same price as Sears) and had the same problem as everyone else is mentioning with the bulb going out right away.  I went back to ****** and they gave me a new bulb, the second bulb lasted another second, then blew.  As everyone else said, I followed the manufacturer's installation instructions ensuring everything was properly connected.  HOWEVER, the light I got from ****** (same exact model number as the one from Sears) I was able to remove the bulb.  I removed the 2 screws from the sides of the black plastic housing, then 1 screw inside that holds down...

light blew quick and cant find the bulb anywhere, this is a 15watt bulb every one carries 55watt which is way to dim

$43 wasted on the Arnold Light Kit, along with the hour I spent accomplishing a really clean installation on my snowthrower.  The money, time, and effort invested in this project yielded one brief instant of illumination, and then...darkness.  The light burned out the moment I throttled-up for operation.  So much for getting any work done last night.

Llke several others submitting reviews, I wish I had seen all of these mostly negative reviews before - on impulse - I bought the Arnold Light Kit for my snowthrower; I do believe I'd have thought twice.

Surely by now Sears MUST be aware of this...

Simple fix

I just got this light in October, 2010. Same bulb issues. Found a fog lamp #BP1255/H3, 12V 55W.

Its the same exact bulb as the ****** Arnold ones except its 55W. Found it at NAPA. Its the same size so you don't have to do anything, just screw it back in. It feels a little hot and it may discolor the lense but I can't tell yet. Its going to be colder than it is today when I am using the light.

I would prefer giving one star.   I wished I had found this web site before buying the unit.  I  installed the unit on my 208 cc snow thrower per instructions making sure all connections were properly done.

I pushed the start button the light came on and went out - complete dead.  Of course there is no replacement bulb.

This company is a definite rip off - I do not understand why Sears and other high qualitystores even sell this company's product/

This snow thrower light is an absolute piece of ****.  We mounted it on the snow blower, started the blower and it blew within 10 seconds.  There is no functioning customer service number for Arnold.  Sears doesn't carry the light bulb either.  Definitely do not buy this product!!!

Absolute JUNK

I bought one of these light kits yesterday and went to install it this morning on a 26" 2-stage 208cc Crafstman snowblower.  The clamp with the welded in nut apparently had screwed up threads causing the bolt to lock up and twist off the welded on nut.  So, I drive back to Sears and exchanged the first junk light for another light.  I get it home, test fit the clamp bolt (fits this time) and completely install the light.  I fire up the engine and the light works for less then 5 seconds then goes out.  I could see the broken filament vibrating in the bulb with the snowblower running.  I took...

Installed the lighht according to instructions. Noted that it was made in China which was my first clue that I was in trouble. Plugged it into the alternator fired up the machine and had light for 3 seconds before the bulb blew. No instructions on how to replace it either. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!

bulb failed within seconds

I installed the light following the package instructions.  Within several seconds of starting the machine the light bulb went out.  Bulb can not be replaced without replacing the entire globe assemble.  Obviously I will be returning it. The next question is--where can I get a well made auxillary light for a snow blower?

What a complete waste of time and money...I never even got to use it before the bulb burned out. I just got it connected and mounted, and it burned out when testing it for the first time! If you're patient enough to look for, and then lucky enough to find the replacement bulb, you'll find it costs $29 from MTD..(Now's when you double check cost of entire light new....and then have a holy **** moment). Good luck complaining to Arnold....no website that I could find. So Sears gets my full load of frustration.....Make you're own light, hold a flashlight, or build a fire. Do anything, but think that...
