The chains appear to be a quality product and should last for years. The chains are sized close to your tire size and do require some minor adjustment as others have noted in their reviews. This is explained in the directions and shouldn't be counted against the product. I went with the 4 star rating as I had to adjust a couple of cross chain sections that were binding. I feel the assembler should have noted this at the factory. Tire chains aren't the most user friendly product, but they are necessary for snow plowing. Bottom line, these are a good set of tire chains.
The chains work very well for the snow plowing I do. For the most part they are easy to install and very durable. The only improvement I would like to see done is with the outside chain latch, it is not that well designed and unless you hook it a just certain way the chains will disconnect and come off the tire, not very fun when it is snowing and 20 degrees out... Otherwise I am very happy with them.
If you are going to use a plow with your tractor Chains are a must , not an option!Have a lot of patience when trying to figure out how to install them, I needed my wife !
my lawn is mostly sloped and mowing was a problem. my son visited and recommended the chains, what a guy, they are great. i can go places where i used to have to weed eat or push a mower. super purchase.
Picked these up my local store and had them on in about 20min. It does help to have a extra set of hands to put these on. I found the best way to put them on was to jack up the rearend and let the air out of the tires and then inflat after you have them on.
This is my next buy before the winter for my new craftsman tractor..Just the right size.
