I have decided to remove this post, as I have had a negative experience, this is not what this forum was meant for

Hi jfsich-How long ago did this happen to your car?  In previous posts, you also mention you worked at a few Sears Auto Centers.  Did this occur at one of the centers where you were employed?

Is there anything Sears Cares can do to help?  We can send on a message to them to have them check this out to see if there is anything they can do.

Sounds like a disgruntled employee to me. Reviewed jfsich's post history, one has been deleted. If you took your vehicle to the dealer and they claimed the damage was not related to the repairs done, what more do you want???? Sounds like your just looking to get a free motor out of the deal!!! Many of times I have performed service to customers vehicles and have gotten the comment, "EVER SINCE YOU WORKED ON MY CAR!!!" There are people out there that will do just about anything to get something for free. If you claimed you worked at a few Sears Auto Centers (can't verify that, one of his posts has been deleted), I would tell you to pound sand as well. This guy sounds like a scam artist to me!!!

Fact remains, you continued to operate the vehicle AFTER you noted that there was an oil pressure issue.

The proper thing to do would have been to shut it down, preventing further damage, and have it towed to either the dealer, or Sears, to have it looked at.

Once you operated the the vehicle for an extended period, with a mechanical defect, YOU became responsible for the compounded damage.

Your negligence led to the permanent damage, not any of the mechanics, or techs who worked on your vehicle.

NO mechanical device should be operated without proper lubrication.

End of line.

Sears should have little cameras installed so that we can watch everything the tech is doing from home.

It is funny how our vehicles can be running great and then all of a sudden not. Take for example, back in April I did a routine coolant exchange and Sears told me that they "vacuum" the coolant out instead of forcing it out by flushing. They explained to me that it's better this way because when you force it out you could break something loose and cause internal damage. Made sense to me, at first. So I had it done. A week or two later I notice coolant on the ground. Took it back to Sears and they could not find a leak anywhere. Drove it another week, still leaking from somewhere. So I took it somewhere else to get a second opinion. They found that the water intake valve had been cracked and the seal around it was destroyed. I explained to the 2nd opinion mechanic the work that was done. He told me there's my problem. The action of the "vacuum' causes it to pull on seals which may have caused my issue with the water intake valve. I have heard pros and cons on both methods.

I do have to admit my car is ten years old, however my car was running fine before I had the coolant exchange performed. So I am with you Jfisch1022. I like my vehicle too. I beleive that we all work hard for what we get in this economy and who has time to fight and spend thousands of dollars to get something done right that should have been done correctly in the first place.

Fact remains, as I stated, it should have been towed.

You would not be in this position, had you acted prudently.  Been there, done that.

As far as shooting my mouth off, if that's what you'd like to believe, it's ok.  I've only owned a dozen vehicles, and done all my own work, with the exception of tires, and windshields.

Once the pressure issue was noted, it should not have been operated, at all.
