The Avent Isis breastpump rocks!

Avent Breast Pump Set, Isis On The Go —

In December 2004, my little boy was born. As much as I wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom, the cost of living in our home state, Hawaii, just wouldn't allow it. So I knew I had to return to my job once my three months of maternity leave was up. I understood that breastfeeding was the best choice I could give my baby, and I didn't want to switch to formula just because I was returning to work. Breastfeeding was a commitment that I had to make, and that's why I started shopping around for a breast pump that would allow the breastfeeding to continue. When I began researching the different breastpumps available, it seemed that the only option for a mother returning to work full-time would be to get an electric pump. I considered this, but all the electric pumps are kind of large to tote around, and they are still noisy. I'm sure the sound is greatly improved than from years ago, but the noise is still there. That's when I turned my attention to manual pumps. From what I'd read, the Avent Isis was as effective as some electric pumps. This made me curious and so I paid the $50 for it, and tried it out. I liked how quiet and discreet it was--no noises. I work in a small company, and I honestly don't want people listening to me pump. Not that they would; it's just how I feel. Paranoid, maybe? And I also like how small the Isis is. I can take it with me anywhere I go. If I travel, I can take it with me since it doesn't take up a whole lot of room. And I can pump anywhere--I don't have to rely on batteries or electricity. How much milk can I pump with the Avent Isis? Enough to keep my baby from starving while I'm at work. I pump about twice a day at work, and the total I can get is between 11 oz. and 15 oz, depending on the day. In short, I love, love, love, this Avent Isis manual pump--back to work set. The bag is so stylish and snazzy; it just looks like a cool lunch bag. Included in the set are two gel packs, a drawstring pouch to keep the milk bottle in, and the pump. The pump itself has six different parts, but they are easy to clean and not at all hard to disassemble and put back together again. I recently had my 2nd child in February 2007. I'm now back at work, and still using this great pump! In my opinion, this is the best pump out there. I realize everyone is different, though.
