LockedTake a Bottle, darn it!!!

So, i am a little frustrated with my sweet daughter.  She is now 3 1/2 months old and she is still struggling to take a bottle.  We have tried almost anything you could imagine to try to get her to take it, and nothing seems to work.

My wife got tickets to see Oprah on April 9th, but she won't be able to go if we can't get my daughter on a bottle.

Have any of you had this problem?  What did you do to help your baby take a bottle?  (We are not using formula yet, just breast milk)

I saw this on an episode of m*a*s*h mabe if you put a little breast milk on the tip of the bottle the baby might take it. If not Oprah is all about open and free public breast feeding maybe you could go and try her out on her ieals

There are several type of the nipples that go on bottle. I think we had the same problem years ago and we went throught 3 or 4 different shape of bottle nipples to get the one our child like. It has been a long time but you my want to look into this. Also check on how you are washing them. DIshwasher. or by hand etc. maybe some detergent is being left on them and she taste it or sometimes the nipples close up when you boil them to sterlize them and you have to reopen the holes in the ends of the nipples. Perhaps the nipples have become hard. Perhaps the temp. of the milk. There are a lot of different things it may be.

Babies are finiky. As someone who raised 5 kids and has 5 grand kids, one born just 4 days ago. It is my experience that you just have to keep trying. She will eventually take it but you have to be patient. She will be more likely to take it if mommy is not there. She knows she gets the breast from mom. Try giving the bottle to her with mom out at the store or something. When my oldest daughter was a baby she refused bottles from me but if I was at work or the store she would take bottles from daddy but the minute I came in she would not take it anymore.

I know!  We moved to the Chicagoland area 2 months ago, and made some friends.  One of the ladies just happened to get Oprah tickets and put my wife down as a guest.  My wife was so excited!  I know some people have waited years to get tickets and can't seem to get any.

You are the couple with the Baby food issue as well i think lol! Well my advise is try many different bottles as well as nipples. And when you start to give it to your baby put some of ur breastmilk on the entire nipple that will be in her mouth. And also when you go to switch her to formula I suggest going to Enfamil PREMIUM lipil, I use liquid for my son but thats up to you guys! Get back with me on what worked or didnt work   qwentensmommy @hotmail.com
