Inappropriate?

I am a long-time shopper of Sears (we don't have KMart nearby or convenient to our home anymore since we moved), and I especially like the Kidvantage program. When my kids were especially young, I enjoyed the 15% and the portrait coupons that I occasionally earned. By far, the best feature of the Kidvantage program is their exhange policy for kids' clothes. If my kids went through the knees or cuffs of any bottoms purchased at Sears, I could exchange them for the exact same item for no charge. With three boys, you can IMAGINE how much money that saved me. What do you love about Kidvantage? How can Sears make it better for families in these tough times?

I would ask for more coupons on the clothes. It is nice to have portrait coupons, but I guarantee that if some coupons were for the clothes, they would get used just as much, if not more. It is all about getting consumers to buy from them, so offer more discounts on what the consumer needs for sure. Since KMart and Sears are together, why not have the program extend to the KMart stores too.

I have been a Kidvantage member for about 8 years and have never really used it, except for one or two of the 15% off coupons (off clothes, not photos). I wish the Kidvantage program applied to EVERYTHING in the kids department--all brands. I love being able to buy Land's End in Sears stores, BUT I want the coupons to apply! Also the "best value" or whatever it's called. If I want really nice quality, I tend to go for the Land's End, but if I want to save money I buy the best value or clearanced items, and it's frustrating to get to the register and be told that my coupon is useless.

It would be a GREAT selling factor for Kmart, especially since more low income family shop at Kmart than Sears.

Samantha Kidvantage is easy to join next time you are in a store all you have to do is walk up to the nearest register and sign up (simple as that) Then every time you spend $100 on childrens and infant clothing and shoes you recieve a 15% off coupon. You then also get the advantage of the wear out warranty. Hope this helps.
Info can be found here:

Kidvantage is a great program, but needs to apply to Lands End and clearance items. How about adding 2/3/5% for other departments? That would increase sales a little bit.
Damon.

I have been a faithful KidVantage user for 15 years. I have 6 kids and love this program. I use it year around for all my kids clothing. I wait until there is a sale on kids clothing and I stock up. I have moved all over the country and love that I can use this program anywhere. I have had very few problems exchanging worn out clothing. I do recommend sticking to regular Sears brands and always keeping your receipts and giving your phone number every time you shop.

Me too, for 15 years! I have 8 kids and love this program. I sometimes miss out on the coupons, because of hand me downs so I don't buy as often. When you do give your phone number make sure it only have one account. I wound up with 4 accounts! I also moved around a lot. I always have to ask how much in each account before my purchase so I know which account I can put it into to get closer to that coupon. The only complaint I have is the shoes. All of my kids feet are big so fast that they are wearing kids clothing and adult shoes. Isn't fair the way they have that set up. I believe kids shoes go up to size 5, that could be a 9/10 yr old who still fits into kids clothing. So the kids advantage would not apply for the shoes! That adds up a lot! I called to complain but nothing so far. I guess not enough people complaining.

Yaa... That their Advantage thingie pops up on the tool register screen, every once in a while - when "clothing" is brought down a floor to the tool department.
"Would you like to add this purchase to your Kidvantage?"
"Would you like to open a Kidvantage?"
OK.
I'm bringing up some Craftsman Club membership forms upstairs to the Kids Department for them to open memberships for the Tool Department.
Seems fair...
