Purchased these Bates shoes after having to look all over town for a pair of good quality shoes. I work in law enforcement and some of the other stores did not have my size or were out of stock. I went into a Sears store and was surprised that they carried the Bates brand shoes. It was a comfortable fit and I am sure that these will last a long time. The only discouragement that I had was that no sales people were on the floor to assist me, which is why I am giving this a 4 star rating. My overall experience was a pleasant one and I will return again to shop at Sears.
I bought a pair of these almost two years ago and use them in all seasons except summer. So far, aside from a few scuffs, they are in excellent condition. Although they are not snow boots, I have trudged through snowdrifts with them without getting my socks wet, which was useful when I had to walk across my university's campus in the winter and not all the paths were shoveled.
As far as comfort, they don't really feel like boots at all, but remind me of the lightweight shoes I used to wear when I was on my high school wrestling team, although with much better treads. The tops are high enough...
read full review »Comfortable and light weight for being on my feet for most of my work day. The built in support is helpful. The leather holds a great shine and is durable. Sears offered them on sale for $69.99 and that price was a deal.
