LockedMattress shipping rip of

I was looking at
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_08266008000P?vName=For+the+Home&cName=Mattresses&sName=Mattresses#

When I tried to order it it was charging me $65 for delivery, I did not order. Then I was checking my e-mail and received an e-mail from pay pal advertising's that if I click on the ad I'll get free shipping from sears and get 8% back from Bing which I'm a member. When I follow thru the steps saying free shipping for items over $99 you get free shipping. I got to the same exact mattress thinking I'm gonna get free shipping plus 8% back in Bing, I tried to add the mattress to my cart to buy it and it would not let me, it said this item is not available for shipping in my area. What a freaking rip of. Sears SUCKS!

Hi JosephMartinez, thanks for joining MySears! We are glad you are here and I can understand your frustration with this situation. Please send an email to searscares@searshc.com (include your MySears.com screen name in your email) and they'll be happy to see if they can resolve this for you. I've also sent this along to SearsCares so they are expecting your note.

I do hope to see you again in our community and would love it if you would let us know how this turns out for you.

Thanks!

Erin

I think there may have been some sort of misunderstanding.

The free shipping from using a store associate to order from store to web for a Customer is on "mailable" items.

I don't think a mattress qualifies as a mailable item.

The free shipping offer you're mentioning is probably for mailable items only, too.

The conditions for the free shipping state that it is for mailable/UPS shippable items under a certain weight, and that certain classes of products are exempt, such as tractors, major appliances, and mattresses. Anything for which home delivery is available at the store, it is delivered via the same system and with the same charges on sears.com.

they also mean free shipping such as Rebates (home delivery), that is how you get the free delivery, and just because the item is not available, doe not mean that sears...sucks?? it means you should look for the sister model which most likely wil say something in these mean "Sealy Posterpedic Cason Bay II" the "II" indicates sister model and normally its just one digit off in the sears item number such as 61034 to 62034, a little more research and things stop sucking, and they start blowing...your mind away!!!

If you have not purchased a mattress yet, do yourself a favor and read the discussions in here before you buy one from Sears

I purchased a mattress from Sears on May 30th.  A birthday present for my son's 21st.  I shopped on line as well as different stores in the area.  I found the best price for a good mattress at Sears.  The frame was standard price as at other stores.  Delivery was also the same as other stores.   The salesman had really nothing to do but check me out.   He explained the delivery and it  would be less if delivered on  Weekdays - so I chose weekday - day before his Bday.  If I spent 15 min on this purchase it was only to wait to get a sales person.  Anyway, it does state on my receipt as well as what the sales person told me,  "set up and level" on the price of the box spring , the mattress and the frame.   Well all the delivery people did was bring it in, told my son how to set it up the frame and left.  Now that was disappointing!   All in all the mattress is comfortable and my son is happy with it.

I just bought a mattress from Sears, and the delivery was on Saturday (about 4 days after ordered) and I also opted for the $10 removal fee along with the $65 delivery-and-setup fee.  The guys who delivered it were great.

The Sears "free delivery" offer is actually a $75 REBATE, and you can even file for it on-line.  Read the fine print.  I doubt you can combine it with the Bing promotion, however.  But if you paid Sears for delivery, just go back & file the rebate form (print it & mail, or file on-line.)  If you click the link for the "Free Delivery and Setup" that's on the page you order, it explains it VERY CLEARLY that it's a rebate, and even provides the direct link to file it on-line.

Re. kpobuyer, that's -not- what they're supposed to do.  "Delivery and setup" is just that, delivery AND setup, provided that's what you paid Sears for, as opposed to "shipping".

If Sears sucks for this, so does any department store for that matter or even a store like Mattress giant.  nobody is sending you a mat in the mail.  espeically for free.

Temperpedic does free delivery from their web site though.  they rock but then again it's expensive and most people that would even think to buy a mattress set from Sears probably can't afford one.
