I have owned this mower now for about 3 years and use it on average 3 times a month from April to October. I have St. Augustine grass.
For the first three years, this mower did the job. It does leave behind some uncut blades of grass and I'm not a speed mower, but in general it does a fairly even cut.
About 4 months ago, it started having trouble starting up. I have to jolt it sometimes over and over for a couple minutes to get it to start.

I got this lawnhog about 7 years ago and it has never worked right. The plastic parts around the blade not only wear out quickly but also break quickly.
Good luck finding a store with replacement parts and/or one that is open on the weekends. I will never, ever buy another black and decker mower, ever.

I am finding this to be a very nice mower. If you are into massive power and noise, this isn't the mower for you. If however you want a nicely mowed lawn without the fumes and bother of a traditional gas powered mower, and don't want to use, or have the muscle to use a push mower, I would recommend this item. The only problem I have encountered so far is learning to use the cord, but this would be the problem with any corded mower. Easy to clean, gives a nice even cut, mulches more than satisfactory, easy to use, has the power to maintain a St Augustine lawn, and NO FUMES!!

I am a 55 yr old female. My house is on a 1/2 acre sloping lot with trees. I purchased this mower new Feb. 09 and have used it every week with mulch bag attachment on mixed centipede grass. The mower performs admirably, reliably, consistantly. I agree with other comments about this mower, except I would say that if I can handle this mower easily in 90 degree heat and humidity, I should think most anyone in reasonable health would have little or no trouble. This model is also a Consumer Reports Best Buy.

I wanted so much to love this mower. It's got great positives: no gas, no oil, no tune-ups, super lightweight, environmentally friendly. But the pro's don't outweigh the cons for me. Yes, mowing with a cord is an annoying skill that has to be mastered, but the worst for me is that it's not terribly powerful and is not self-propelled. Despite being wonderfully lightweight, I still got quite a workout pushing it through St. Augustine grass. It was rather exhausting in March, so you can imagine how I would feel in Houston in July pushing this thing. The cut was also uneven. It has become my back-up...

I've had my mower for several years and love it. Have had no problems with it. The only problem I've had is being made fun of for using an electric mower! I have recommended it to several people.

This is my first lawn mower. It comes fully assembled and you can just open the box and use it within seconds. At first it will be hard to navigate with the electic cord attached. But in 2 or 3 uses you usually get used to it.
I did not have any issues with my small lawn approx 5000sq ft. The mulching and bagging option are very helpful. This is light and easy to handle. There is no pollution or any worries about tuning and gas. I did not see any big impact on my electricity bill. Good value for money as I got a good deal from Sears.com. I have been using it for one month now. Definitely recommend...

I bought this model when it first came out and paid close to $400. It quit working two months after the warranty ran out. I couldn't find anyplace in Phx AZ to repair it at the time. Black & Decker was no help since my warranty expired. I could try to find a repair shop again, but the price has come down to what I would probably pay for repairs. It would be more env friendly to repair it, but i'm afraid i may have a lemon on my hand. I don't know what to do with it. .

This is a perfect mower for small to mid-size yards. I was using a reel mower and the MM875 cut my cutting time in half. Easy to use and assemble. The bag is large enough so I only have to empty it once (when I'm done). No hassle starting. Plenty of options (mulching, bagging, cutting height adjustment, adjustable handle. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

This is actually the second electric mower we've bought. We always use the mulch mode, which works great. The height adjustment is easy to use and has a fairly wide range, the machine is quiet (as expected given our prior experience), it cuts even neglected grass well without hacking it, and we're thrilled.
Bought it (or something like it) years ago; bought it this time; and if necessary, will buy again 10+ years from now.

After years of fighting with gas-powered mowers (they wouldn't start, they'd need a tune-up, etc.), I finally gave-up and bought this electric mower.
IT IS GREAT!
Every Spring, it runs great, the under-deck is easy to clean, the blade is easy to remove (for sharpening). It's a joy to use!
The only replacement I've had to do was the flap at the back of the mower. It only lasted about two years, but it was easy to replace and install.
Ultimately, I now have two other neighbors who have bought this same mower (after seeing how well mine worked). They, too, are pleased with their purchases!

This electric mower is perfect for my small/medium sized yard. Assembly was a snap. I love the adjustable height feature, very simple to operate and it does a great job cutting.
