I have purchased 3 of these since 1989. They last a long time and suit the smaller residential lot. The unit is light and easy to navigate on all types of terrain.
We purchased the Black & Decker corded mower to replace our 3-year-old Neuton electric cordless mower. The Neuton wore out (and their customer service isn't so great) and we liked the idea of another electric, but with more power. The corded option seemed the best way to go. So far so good. Easy to assemble, cuts well and it's light and maneuverable. We got this one on sale, plus an add'l 5% "midnight madness" discount and a Sears gift card from our Discover card saved us more than half off. Clipping coupons works, folks--and we got a great mower in the bargain.
I love this mower. Took away all the pain and fumes of my old gas powered mower. Didn't know why I make this switch sooner.
I recently bought this mower and have only had the opportunity to use it once, but I loved it. It's spring, the rain keeps coming and the grass keeps growing faster than we can cut it. On top of that, we have a septic tank and you know what they say.. the grass is always greener over the spetic tank. Well, it's true, greener, thicker, stronger, and longer. Since I moved into this house I've always struggled mowing over the septic tank area. No matter how often I mowed, how high I put the blades, or how quickly I tried to lift the front of the mower when I heard it struggling with my gas...
read full review »I recently bought a Black and Decker corded mulch mower. It was super easy to put together-no tools required! It has a great adjustable height feature that lets me mow the grass in the middle of my stone driveway, high enough to avoid the rocks.
My favorite feature is the smooth underside-much easier to clean than my previous mower.
The only complaints I would have is that the cord wrap on the right doesn't allow me to pull the extension cord with my left hand so I can turn around when I am mowing. Also, the side shooget falls off easily.
Black & Decker 18 in. Deck Side-Discharge Electric Mower, Corded, 9 amp — I bought one of these B&D Mod. MM275 electric mowers 6 or 7 years ago, it quit yesterday. I checked to see if I could get it fixed, Sears told me a new motor cost $ 142.00 and a new mower was $ 189.99 so I got a new one. If you decide to get one of these make sure you get the 9 amp model as it will cut almost anything you push it thru. B&D makes a 6.5 amp, I don't think I would get one unless I had a well manicured lawn. I don't mind working with the electric cord, I just start out and mow away from the cord that way it...
read full review »I bought this as a Christmas present for my grandmother. Her old gas lawn mower broke, so I did some research online for a good but low price lawn mower for her. That's how I discovered this B&D Electric Lawn Mower. I never knew there were any other types of lawn mowers beside the gas lawn mowers and the sitting-type lawn mowers. I was a little hesistant in getting it since I was new to electric lawn mowers and wasn't sure if it'll be any good as compared to gas lawn mowers. After researching around and reading what other reviewers had to say from their experience, I decided to buy it and try....
read full review »Guess what I got this past Father's Day? Hint: Much better than a tie!!! I've taken over the lawn mowing duties since both of us became "unemployment statistics" and this B&D mower has "done the job" for me, extremely efficient for the size of our lawn area, very clean and relatively quiet, easy to operate and use in our slightly sloped yard.
