I have to admit, I was very skeptical about getting a battery powered trimmer. I used to borrow my father-in-laws convertible gas line trimmer/edger. But would get so frustrated when it wouldn't start on the first try or the second, or the 3rd, always needing several pulls to start. With that said, I still went out and purchased a BRAND NEW gas trimmer, and after the first few uses, I noticed that it would never start on the first pull.
Frustrated, I brought it back and decided to go with this and the 18V blower. I haven't looked back since. Starts every time and the battery lasts long enough to go around my whole house. Sure it's a pain to remember to charge the battery a full 8 hours before you plan on using it. But at least you know it will start every time. The automatic feeding system is awesome, so you never have to press anything to get more line. I have to admit it works very well. Although, the edger doesn't work for my grass. I have St. Augustine grass which is just too thick to get a good edge. I have approx 2000 sq. ft house and it does the job. I would definately recommend.
