Buick LeSabre - 2001 —
This car is a great mix of luxury and economy.I own the Limited Edition, which typically comes with more bells and whistles than the Custom does. The interior is roomy and well-thought out. The seats are comfortable, even on long drives - and those heated seats come in handy on those cold winter days. The heating and air conditioning work extremely well, and the sound system is great. The car offers a nice, quiet ride, but still handles extremely well. I average about 26 mpg - that includes a mix of in-town and highway driving.I have owned several LeSabres in the past, and each year range has had its quirks. This particular year range seems to be the electric window motor assembly. As a previous reviewer had mentioned, the window motor assemblies tend to go bad - this is due to poor engineering and flimsy housing. And there's no way to really fix the unit when it goes bad - you have to have the entire thing replaced, and it also ran about 500 dollars for me to do so. Luckily, I purchased a warranty on the car, and it covered the cost of repairs (I bought it used, and the warranty was reasonable and covered a lot).Is this issue enough to put me off the car? No! I still love it! I won't hesitate to buy another one should a good deal come along. They're great cars and I'm sad Buick no longer makes them.
