my younger son loves 'sitting up' to watch the action. the bumbo makes it possible without us having to hold him all the time. he enjoys being a 'big boy' in his little bumbo. the solid construction makes it a very solid surface for my son to sit in as well. i love the optional tray that comes with the bumbo! it's a little costly though!
I so wish they had made these 10 years ago when I had my first. I used this constantly with my son, now five, when he was an infant. I remember how happy he was when it helped him sit up before he could himself. He was able to see things on a different level than he could before. It also helped me sometimes when I needed to keep him put for a minute to keep him safe. I would never put it on any high surface such as a table or chair, though, because it would be dangerous and it even advises against this in the directions.
My son loves his Bumbo so much! I was unsure about getting one after reading a few negative reviews, but after having one I realize it's all about supervision. Sure, my son has figured out how to maneuver his way out of his, but if I'm watching him closely, he is fine. I think it has really helped strengthen his back and balance better, and we often feed him in it. Love it.
I love the bumbo and so does my baby! She thinks that she's sitting all by herself, she always wants me told hold her sitting but I don't have the time to just hold her. Once I put her in the bumbo then she's good and happy. It's very good in holding your baby in and help them sit up. It comes in a variety of colors and also a eating tray that you have to buy seperate. Don't be decieved by the cover because it makes it look plastic, once you feel it, its actually soft and comfortable for your baby! I recommend to anyone who have infants, you will love this product and see how much it really makes...
read full review »I didn't discover the bumbo until my third kiddo, and I SO wish I had had one for my first two. My first two are two and four years older than my youngest and this made it so much easier when I needed to sit her down. It was PERFECT for taking to restaurants especially when she was too small and too wobbly to sit in high chairs. It's also light weight which makes it easy to carry around (or get smaller ones to carry when your hands are full!). My son has used this from 2 months to 18 months so far. It is a grat tool to help them sit up, easy to take with you with the chair for a portable feeder/snack tray and now at 18 months he uses it as a chair. It is lightweight, very durable and portable. The only con I can think of is it is difficult to get the Bumbo tray on and off.
My daughter sat in her Bumbo Seat at four months old and enjoyed looking at the world around her.
At first I thought these were silly, but then we got one. We use our Bumbo all the time. When she was younger and couldn't sit by herself she liked to sit in it to be where ever we were. Now we use it as a highchair.
WE bought this for our son when he was around 4 months.It really helped me.This baby sitter really saved my back.I am a first time parent and i would always hold my son in my hand over sometime it became a habit for him.he would cry and scream if i just put him down.once i bought this he really liked sitting in this.i would feed him and make him sit in it very often until he started crawling.the only down side to it is once ur kids start crawling they figure out how to come out of it.heheheh.it does not have any kind of belt in it to hold the baby in.but i would surely say that it made my son sit...
