The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT camera is a wonderful choice for anyone who would like to take a step above other basic consumer cameras, and start to learn how to take better photos with an SLR.
This camera is easy enough (well, I think so) for an amateur, but offers enough options for those who are advanced and want to take beautiful, professional photos. I suggest buying a better lens, besides the kit lens, to do other types of work such as portraits, but all in all it's a good lens for a kit.
Highly suggest this camera!
This camera is great. Its was easy to learn how to use and even a beginner can take good pictures with this one. It focuses easily and precisely. I would and have recommended it to family and friends who are looking for something like this one. It is definitely not compact or easy to carry along, but if you don't mind that it is a good buy, even for that crazy price.
The auto settings makes the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT allows you to start taking great digital pictures following charging the battery. Then the manual or partial manual settings provide ways to experiment with one feature such as the shutter speed and having the camera manage all other settings. This is great for adjusting for natural light photography for fast moving indoor like gymnastics (mode TV)where no flashes are allowed for safety reasons.
If you are serious about digital photography, this camera is for you. I have owned it for 3 months now and am thrilled that I can use my old EOS zoom lens on it. I would recommend buying an extra flash unit. The one on the camera is very good but in low light situations, you still need the extra flash. It's nice saving in RAW format as well. Camera is pretty user friendly. For the serious amateur.
I have had my camera for a couple of years now and still love it. My pictures are always beautiful and clear. I have even taken it to places where you cannot use a flash and those pictures are great. I have always enjoyed taking pictures but now I absolutely love to. I would and have recommended this camera to many people and now it is so much more affordable than when I purchesed mine. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would have.
I am a professional photographer and 2 days before a photoshoot, the camera I normally use went on the fritz so I purchased this one as a backup. I used this camera for 500 photos and everyone of them came out perfect in color and clarity. This has all the settings of more expensive models and works just as great. I would definitely recommend this to any photographer to get great results.
This is an awesome camera that topples nikon within it's price range. Great flexibility and control lets you get the shot you want without worry. Stock lens leaves a little more to be desired, but after all it is the stock lens. There are hundreds of available lenses to choose from so finding the right lens for the right job is real easy.
The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Camera is one of the most user friendly cameras on the market. Great functionality and pictures!
got one of these cameras for a gift for my dad and although its a great camera in my opinion he still uses his old camera...but overall I thought the it was great...

We have had this camera for a year now and it is awesome. The pictures are very clear and look like a professional photographer took them. I took pictures at a wedding and they were as good if not better than the photographers.
