This has 7.1 MP and is one of the best entry level point and shoots your money can buy.  It uses AA batteries and a SD memory card.  Because of the battery chamber, you have a nice little grip handle which a lot of cameras don't have, making it easy to put fingers in front of the flash or lens.  It also has IS (image stabilization) which really adds to the quality of your shots and allows for less rejected pics.  I noticed it can be a little slow on flash recylcing but it's not a huge inconvenience as long as you are not in a hurry to get that next special shot.  The colors are more accurate...

Yes, it does make the camera about 50% bigger but I love the fact that it's powered by AA batteries and not lithium-ion.  If you use rechargeable batteries, it'll last you a good amount of time.  I travel to foreign countries a lot, so I find it much more convenient to just buy AA batteries than to find a power converter and carry a charger around.

I also take a lot of nighttime pictures and I hate harsh flashes, so the IS technology is great.  It's not perfect (still a lot of blurry pictures), but a must-have feature.
