This Canon PowerShot camera was my introduction into digital cameras. It has been a great investment at a very reasonable price. I literally take the camera with me everywhere. The clarity of the photos are great. My favorite use for the camera is nature photography since I can zoom up very close to the subject. I highly recommend this camera. It is a lot of fun to use.
This camera has an optical viewfinder that is great to use when the light is too bright to use the screen or when you don't want the distraction of the screen. It also runs on AA batteries which might not seem like an advantage until you get to a country with different current or plug configurations that won't work with your charger. It also has lots of settings, but works great on the automatic one. It gives great pictures which is what you get a camera for!
I absolutely love my silver Canon Powershot. The Canon Powershot comes in a variety of colors which I really like. It is great to use on the go and I use it all the time. It's pretty small so it's portable and the price is definitely affordable. It has a resolution of 8 megapixels which I really like. It has a lot of features that you can mess around with, like the white balance and exposure.
I am a photography buff! I love to have a good point and shoot cameras for most days when I dont specifically go on photography missions. Canon powershots with IS- Image Stabilization are great for that. I buy the latest model when ever one shows up. I recommend reading manuals to discover additional features such as details in manual mode.
After having an ACCIDENT with my loyal Canon sd300 , I wanted to get the latest Canon and loved the "IS" addition to it....the Canon SD1100is was IT.
Still small sized camera , light, sharper edges and the best part is the image stabilizing option...WOW! I was on a hay ride with the kids for Peach picking and filming a video . You don't notice any vibration in the video...like I said Simply perfect .
Plus after uploading pictures/video to computer...the picture are super clear and sharp colors. ....I simply love it .
The only con would be if anyone gets this cam ( or similar) and not buy the...

Is the best point and shoot camera I have ever owned. Takes professonal looking photos and very easy to use. as always found the best price and customer service at Sears
