You'll find plenty of technical reviews on the web regarding features and specs for this camera.

The best thing I think I can provide is my short experience with this camera, so if you used to have a high end P&S camera and is looking to dive into the DSLR world, you are where I was a few weeks ago.

I owned a Sony F717 which I really loved, but honestly, all I did was set it to Auto and take good pictures. The problem was that I had a toddler at home that doesn't really like to wait till the camera took a few secs to focus and take the pic. I was missing those smiles and moments just because the...

Love this camera! There are tons of presets and effects that you can use as well as video. Couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Good starter camera!

I purchased my XTi body only in May 2007 with a Canon 75-300 Zoom Lense.  I am terrible at reading manuals and learning the basics.  This camera comes with several "AUTO" features that allow the lazy novice to start shooting immediately.  The only auto feature I wish it had was NO FLASH.  You have to manually program it to do that.  Oh well.  I would suggest buying high end Compact Flash cards with a rating of faster data transfer times.  You won't be sorry when you're shooting at the 3 shots per second maximum.  But you'll be stopped when the camera can't write to the card as fast as you...

An outstanding camera

I bought this camera after using my sisters and am so glad I did. My old camera was very slow and with a 10 month old I miss a lot of great picture oppurtunities. With the Canon I can take bursts of pictures and not miss anything! I get clear sharp pictures and would recommend this camera to any and all. It is well worth the price!

This camera is awesome!

The Canon Rebel XTI is a remarkable digital camera. The picture quality is untouchable and the camera is so very easy to use. I have taken it on my vacations to the Greek Isles, Portugal, Spain, Hawaii and New Zealand.

My first Digital SLR camera was this XTi (silver, though) and it has helped me produce fantastic photos ever since I got it 2 years ago.

Being a professional, the camera is more than a "hey, i don't miss any family moments!" thing for me.  It's my life--how I pay my rent.  So, obviously, I need a good tool to do that.  It's like a painter needing great quality paints, or a clock maker needing good, steady hands--it just HAS to work, and it HAS to work well.

I really love the XTi because it's small and lightweight compared to other D SLRs in it's class.  I like the smooth look of the silver...

Canon cameras top my list of great, affordable and easy to use digital cameras. SLRs are my favorite for many reasons. Although I'm currently shooting with a Nikon, I've had many Canon cameras, both SLR and HD video that I wish I had now.

I have had my camera for a year and half, I had to send it to Virginia to get the sensors fixed $200.00 dollars later I get it back.. I talked to the tech. he told me to use an eraser, did that but nope it did not work.. when my camera was returned it had to be reprogramed at the repair shop in virginia that was all that was wrong with it not the sensors.. after spending so much money for it I can not believe a year and half latter the programming went out and it coust me two hundred more dollars..

yikes

Canon makes great cameras! The Digital Rebal XTi is no exception. Wonderful camera with a lot of bang for the buck. Has features for both the amature and professional on a budget. I would recommend this camera to anyone!
