this weight bench is pretty good for the beginner.I got it for christmas 06-07 at 14.I saw good results from it,when i fisrt purchsed i could barely bech the 80lbs.In a few months it was nothing,of cousre i do use protein but i wasnt using it as much as i do now.I was quckly benching 115lbs by the end...

Recently bought this set early in January 08 and so far its been great for almost a month I have owned it. I went right to my local Sears and picked this up with no delay and the box was in great shape with everything included. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble everything taking my time and with a few simple hands tools it went together easily. I am a beginner in this sort of thing so this was an excellent start and its been getting used 3-4 times a week.
My only complaints with this are the bar is a 2 piece design which is odd, but so far its been just fine with the maximum weight on it....

This bench is a very good value for the money... Easy to assemble.
For someone who is not into major weight lifting this is a perfect Bench and weight set... I shopped around for almost 2 weeks before finding this item on Sears.com... I would have spent over twice the money at other stores.. I would recommend this to anyone..
This is really the best equipment that you can add in your workout room when you are a beginner i just bought it a day ago and followed the instructions to put the pieces together which is easy and i have worked out on it twice and it is offering an amazing effect in my body it is very versatile and easy to use i really recommend this to any person who likes to buy this as a beginner's kit. I personally believe that if one works out an hour each day for 1 month then it would bring about huge changes to your body. "It is eagerness and strong will that will bring about fast changes"

My parents bought me this for Christmas and I put it together that day. I used it alot and saw some results. The only problem is the weak bad it came with, the clamps for the bar bent easily and I pinched my hands alot. Good for the beginner but must upgrade when you're older.
I love this set. It was a great beginner set for me. I highly recommend it.
very good deal for the price. only complaint is the bar is not the greatest quality. but other than that i highly reccomend this product
I am only 14 years old, and bought this 2 monthsa ago.
I couldn't even bench press 80lbs when I first got it.
I was a 5'8" 140lb kid. Now ever since I started working out I grew to be 5'10" and 175lb of all muscle. I ca neven bench press 130, an improvement of 50lbs in just 2 months of owning it.
This set is great for begginers, as I was, and cheap enough for anyone who wants to start muscle building at a young age.
The box came very damaged and many parts where damaged and missing. I tried contacting the Maxx strength company and they have the worst customer service I have ever experianced, you leave a message with your name and phone number and they will call you back but they never really call you back. After 6 calls I returned this and I got a new brand bench by another company and I couldn't be any happier.
I just bought the set and have been using it for a few days, but the thing I found most annoying is the fact that there is no 5lb weights. So basically if you want to put more weight on for preacher curling, or bench pressing, then you havea 20lb gap and thats particularly troublesome for curling as I'm currenting only curling 40lbs plus the weight of the bar, so if I try to put more weight on I jump to 60lbs. Another thing that I didn't like was the acual bar. It's a 2 piece bar and I thought it was rather flimsy. On the upside, the bench is quite small so it's perfect for tight fits, it's comfortable,...

this is a good machine i recomend it to anyone that wants to start working out... i truly think that people should buy this than those other expensive items... this item gives you great quality for the price you are paying....
Its a good starter, but the bar is small not really made for heavy lifting. and also the bar rest is small and just asking to pinch ur hands.
