Casino Royale —

Once you get past the fact that the name, "James Bond" could have been any other name it's a great spy movie. A lot of action (and violence) are contained in this film. The story stays with the plot, not the gadgets that have become the norm for the 'modern' secret agent films.If you're expecting the charming and witty 007 you will be dissapointed, but as a stand-alone member of the franchise, it's the one Bond movie that focuses on the agent. Daniel Craig is excellent in protraying a secret agent, although, again, it's not the Agent one expects going in.
