any opinions on a 5 HP craftsman chipper shredder would be appreciated. I have chance to get used one but need information on performance.Would be used mostly for leaves.

Make sure to shred dry leaves, only.

The damp leaves (pine needles) can really clog up in any shredder.

Also, sifting the leaves into the hopper allows the machine to more easily shred them and takes advantage of the machine's full mulching ratio.

A multi-tined pitch fork is a definite plus when dealing with loading in a bunch of leaves.
