LockedChristmas Decorations

I'm determined to add some holiday to the outside of my house this year!  This is the third christmas we are spending in our house and have yet to put anything up.  I would like our house to stand out and I'm not real big on the blow-up type decorations. Anyone have some really creative ideas you can help me out with?

Icicle lights, on every possible edge.  Nice ones too, not the ****** ones you can get at WalMart.  It will make your roofline really stand out, another thing you can look at is the hedge light nets.  I wouldn't do anything in the yard, most of the outdoor orniments end up looking really tacky.  If you where thinking about yard decorations I'd go with the Crystal Or Duravine lines we carry.  Those look a bit less gawky, but don't just stick them out in the open anywhere!  Blend them in, maybe put one peeking from behind a tree or in the foliage.  Make it a Holiday scene instead of a decoration for the sake of a decoration.

I'm going to KMart, to get that lit pig, lawn ornament and a small string of white lights.

I'm going to have a "flying pig" ornament this year!

Got it!

Would you believe the last one?

I bought the display floor model (assembled) and all I need to do now is add the "wings".

I've already got a strand of white-light bulbs to attach to the wings...

What would the Holidays be - without Ham?

I am just a fan of the blinking white lights.  Nobody in our neighborhood goes too crazy, so it is nice to just have something out.  I love walking up to the house and seeing them!  It is a nice reminder of the time of year.

We have one neighbor who has EVERY blow up yard display ornament, for every holiday, you've ever seen. I go buy his house on the way home from work every day.

A really festive display at night.

What about the Xmas Penguins?

The Hippo or Cow (kind of hard to tell)?

The Holiday Girafe?

Or, the new Polar Bear ornaments?

Oh, yaa... the "Reindeer", too...

And, I got me one of them Holiday Pink Pigs!

I love that look too.  It reminds me of Colonial Williamsburg.  When I lived in PA we did the pine bough swags with red bows and candles and I loved that look too.  I wish I could pull it off here at our house in Michigan but it's too modern and looks silly.

Another thing I love, love, love are blue holiday lights.  Everyone does white lights but when I see the blue ones, it's just so pretty and calming.  They can be hard to find though.

I have one of those neighbors too.  Their yard looks so sad during the day with all of these deflated lumps all over the yard though!
