I'm curious what people think of the jewelry in Sears.  What do people like and dislike about it?

Wouldn't know.  Our Sears in Columbia, MO doesn't have a jewelry department.  Too small.  I just wish they would make an effort to stock more Lands' End clothing for men.

I am a Fine jewelry Lead in KY and from what i can tell with customers is that the ones who buy stuff like the price point. The ones who do not like our jewelry, which is the majority of traffic i experience, do not like the low quality of the diamonds, the lack of white gold merchandise(not much anyway), and the over abundance of gemstones and lack of mens jewelry. When it comes to our watches the customers who shop them seem generally pleased, it is just a matter of getting the rest of the shoppers out there to think of us for Citizen, Bulova, and Casio watches. I may be wrong, but these are my observations.

The way they stock the Lands End section is based on income levels in the area. We have a store with an extensive Lands End section, two stores with a moderately sized Lands End section, and one with no Lands End section. It's all based on demographics.

I understand that rochesterian, however even in our "Sales Today" booklet that is nation wide they do not have many of the things I described. As far as the quality of the diamonds I mean the "cloudiness" that they appear to have. Our store is not fortunate enough to receive any champaigne diamonds but we have received a couple of black diamonds. As far as the champaigne diamonds, we have several diamond stud earrings that LOOK like they are champaigne but in fact they are just regular diamonds. I am unsure on exactly how long we have had them because they were here before I came in to the jewelry department, however they have not even been looked at from any of my customers because of how terrible they look. This is just one example of our diamonds have some of the worst appearance of any jeweler I have ever seen. If they want to impress more customers then I find it very important to have a better clarity in the diamond selection.
