My fiance bought this for a trip we took over the summer. He also has an electronic compass in on the dash. Unfortunately, the compass seems make the radar detector go haywire. It goes off randomly with the alarm that means you are being shot by radar....QUITE annoying.
We unplugged the compass and it is still beyond repair. We did send it back to company because, 2 months later, it blew it's fuse out. The company replaced it but we still can't use the electric compass when it's on.
This product is good for what it is but if you have anything else electic in the car don't buy it!
This little radar detector was on sale this christmas, so I picked one up for my lead foot husband. It has saved us more than a few times. Very accurate and beeps differently between different radar types.
