LockedDo you limit the amount of TV your kids watch?

posted on June 14, 2010 at 12:32PM Inappropriate?

A recent study conducted by the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention found that kids whose parents set limits on how much TV they could watch -- perhaps this will be no surprise -- watched less TV. Two questions for you:

- Do you limit the amount of TV your kids watch?
- How much TV do your kids watch each day? An hour? Three hours? Six hours?

This is a great question!

We include all screen time in the TV watching category-this means, DS, Wii, or computer games.

We allow a half hour before dinner, and 10 minutes right before bed of any sort of screen time.  They wish they had more, though!

It took awhile to figure out, but, if they know everyday when the screen time happens, they don't bug me about it during the day.
