Get it through your phone company. I just order online...depending on your cell phone company and how long you had your plan you might be elgible for discounts.

You may want to look at something other than a blackberry. If all you want a keyboard for is texting there are plenty of phones with keyboards that will cost you a lot less. My cell phone providers requires you to purchase internet access to get the blackberry at a discount. If you don't want/need internet phone capabilities, skip the blackberry, Ipod, etc.

Edit: To clarify, the blackberry is for use with the internet on cell phone service. Very expensive the balckberry be and the internet service will set you back a lot too. If you are doing it for texting make sure you have an unlimited texting plan.

Unless she is a college student really should would do just fine with like an LG Rumour or a Samsung Rant, some cheaper phone like that which has a qwerty keyboard.
