PS3 BETTER DEAL BETTER PRICE BETTER GAMES, BETTER SERVICES (FREE INTERNET PLAY) BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE

Unless you only play halo, and the other like one exclusive xbox stil lhas, get a ps3. But you clearly don't because you wouldnt be asking if you knew, so PS3.

WARNING ONLY PROBLEM WITH PS3, IF YOU GET WARRANTY THROUGH MANUFACTURER DO NOT LOSE YOUR RECEIPT OR THEY WILl SPIT ON YOU

Xbox 360 warranties are all kept server side, so thats about my only complaint with sony.

Xbox 360 is much better!

ps3 is better graphics wise however they do not know how to incorporate it into the games.

meaning, the graphics of games look great but gameplay physics and control smoothness are severely flawed.

also, the newer slimmer ps3 is much more prone to overheating and terminal damage because all of the slimming down was in main cooling components such as smaller heatsinks and cooling fans.

in comparison, they both cost the same, and they both have the same memory.

ps3 has better graphics but poor gameplay and controls and most games are just shooting games or rpgs.

xbox 360 has more game genres such as shooting, role playing, sports and more importantly, children and user friendly oriented games.

the playstation 3's main feature is blueray however it is quite irrelevant in a sense that it only really shows on $2,000 televisions.

xbox 360 has hdmi support like the playstation 3 but looks great even on standard televisions.

all in all, i would say that xbox 360 is a better game console

but playstation 3 is more for home theater, but if that's what you where looking for, then just buy a nice tv and save yourself $300.

hope you found my advice helpful! good day.

LOL OBVIOUS TROLL

Blue ray is the next wave of movie techonology, eventually DVDs will be phased on like VHS and blue ray will onyl be there. Ps3 and xbox 360 have exact same games, except for halo and like one other excluvsive.

You complain about overheating but fail to mention the 1.6 MILLION consoles repaired for 3 red lights alone on xbox.

ps3 has way more processing power so it loads faster, saves quicker.

ps3s have free internet connection which for casual gamers, who want to go online occassionaly to maybe check the internet, or play against your friend, you would be stuck paying 10.99 a month for a recurring subscription that you have to call in and cancel.

I can go on and on all day about how much better ps3 is than 360, and Yes i do own both.

I currently own a 60GB PS3 and I bought it when the consule first came out! Yea I'm one of the unfortunate ones that did't see a 120GB for $299.99 coming so I paid $599.99!!! But the consule works great and the PS3 images on my Sony HDTV LCD is great! If you want graphics, Blu-Ray and quality then I highly recommend Playstation 3!

PS3 is better for the money and I dont think anyone can possible try to make the argument that an Xbox 360 is more reliable than a PS3 is.

As far as the graphics issue the best graphically looking game right now is Uncharted 2 and that is a PS3 exclusive.

but really the two main things is online play is free and it has blu-ray

As for Blu-ray... don't forget to mention that the Blu-ray player in the PS3 is one of THE best Blu-ray players you can own - has been that way since the system FIRST came out.  And it still is topping lists of "best Blu-ray Players out there."

For a comparable Blu-ray player... you'd have to spend $400+, EASILY.

PS3 all the way, better games and game play and the Blue-ray built in saves you a litle cash form buying two difrent players. Plus if Sony follows the past players you should beable to play Ps and PS2 game (not sure on this fact). i like the Sony gamming systems and have not moved myself to buy a XBox yet.

So I say go for a PS3

No, not true anymore.  The original generation of PS3's were backwards compatible.  The Newer ones are not.  It sucks.  Still a better system, though - when you consider ALL the bonuses and benefits, alone.

just got a ps3 and i love it! i got the slim one and it does lack a few  things the older ps3 had but its also way cheaper! so im happy :-)

All PS3 units can play PSone games, newer systems cannot play PS2 games.

Yes, but sony is coming out with a firmware upgrade that will allow ALL ps3s to play all ps2 and psx games so this arguement is moot

posted on December 10, 2009 at 03:57PM

haha I wouldnt hold your breath for that firmware update, now eventually their will be a firmware update to allow you to purchase PS2 games from the PS-Store but most PS2 games need the actual PS2 processor to play ~ so if Sony ever tried any software emulation, most newer games wouldnt play unless they were recoded to work on PS3 hardware.

A lot of later PS2 games, developers designed their own engines and code for those games they didnt use the standard Sony dev kits. This allowed for a lot of later PS2 games to look, better, run better and take better advantage of the PS2 hardware, but it also makes it harder to be emulated by software alone.

My comp can run ps2 games, my ps3 > comp, hardware / software wise so im pretty sure sony can figure it out, especially since they already announced it.

posted on December 10, 2009 at 09:47PM

They have not announced it, Sony's current stance and stance for the past year and a half has been that backwards compatibility is a thing of the past and something they are not focused on at all. So I dont know what Sony press release you have been reading, do not believe the rumour articles circulating the internet.

Funny how the ability to take a PS2 disc and put it in a computer and have it run is illegal and if you download a PS2 (coded game) someone would have to illegal modify the games source code to be run or emulated on a PC.

Sony's ability to do so, and Sony actually doing it are to very different things.

Look at the Xbox 360, not all original XBOX games run on the XBOX 360, Xbox originals that work on the 360 have had their game code remodified by Microsoft or their developers to work on the 360.

Only true gamers can get in on this debate, not fanboys who had previous iterations of a system in which they became loyal to.  Simply put, XBOX 360 not only have more games, but way better ones also.  Sure Sony has the blu- ray player and no subscription fee to go online, but for that reason, their online network is ****** and maintained poorly.  That's why you pay the fee to Microsoft who is unrivaled in online play.  There are pros and cons for both systems.  Pick what you like.  However, at the end of the day, no matter the genre, 360 gives you the best games.  The Wii would be next.  PS3 is actually 3rd in that department.  ...I can talk the talk because I have all 3.

posted on December 28, 2009 at 07:41AM

You pretty much, took yourself out of the true gamers (statement) the second you the XBOX 360 has way better games, because thats simply not true, most games this generation are all multiplatform, and if you were comparing exclusives only both systems are equal at best. If we were comparing by their metacritic scores the PS3 would have the slight edge.

Now even bringing the Wii into this arguement, especially as having better games than the PS3, makes it obvious you are fanboy because everyone knows the Wii is filled with nothing but shovel-ware and the (good) games on that system are few and far between.

What about the Wii...yeah the graphics suck but it's actually fun to play with. I've got a friend with different systems but the one he ends up playing most with is the Wii.
