Our range is approx 5 years old.  Recently, the oven is only lighting sporadically.  Any advice or knowledge on this?

can not clean the carbon ignitors if you mess with them you will break them. if it was bad no big deal if not they are not cheap. we need to offer advise on things we are experienced in. unless its a whirlpool or whirpool made kemore then you will have a dsi ign.

Oh, wait, it's the OVEN. I was thinking it was the cooktop burners that weren't lighting. Yes, disregard my initial post. My bad. :)

you can get intermittent oven burner lighting as the ignitor goes bad. if the ignitor glows but the valve wont open replace the ignitor.

A light wire brushing of the ignitor, to expose oxidized metal, may be all that is needed.

On the top of our burner assembly, several of the ignitors were being blocked by contaminants.

Things are working much more-better, now...

Hi applesauce4-Welcome to MySears.  www.managemyhome.com is the site to visit in order to get your manual.

There are quite a few troubleshooting discussions on the site, too, that may help you to pinpoint what the codes appearing on your oven could mean.

We went to the managemyhome site and found the manual.  It was not helpful.  We pulled the switch on the valve as it suggested.  This did not work.  The indicator light on the oven works, however the oven does not turn on.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  Thanksgiving is a week away and I am getting a bit desperate.  The oven worked fine on Sunday and then it just stopped working on Monday.  Help!

Our oven is a Kenmore 75361 or something close to that (that is the manual we found)

Need the model/serial number usually found around the drawer or oven door.

The Model is 362-7556591  Serial # is 6H211856P

Thanks for asking

marryand4: Most likely a weak/open bake ignitor. Part# WB13K0004. Can also use WB2X9154 (WB2X9154 may differ in appearance, but is a functional equivalent to prior parts including WB13K0004.) If you have an ammeter, the reading should be at least 2.5 amps. Part is available on searspartsdirect.com.

f-2 on a range is a bad sensor error code.
