Locked"Can't do without baking supplies"

I was just looking at some BBQ recipes on the Food TV site and they have these great recipes that make me want to fire up the grill and invite my friends over. But then it made me start thinking about dessert (my favorite part of any meal).

I really like using my baking sheet that has a pocket of air in it to help cookies bake evenly. It wan't too cheap, so I only have one but boy, I really can't do without it. Do you have any utensils or baking supplies you absolutely can't do without?

I could not do without my Kitchenaid stand mixer. Not only does it do the best job of mixing ingredients, but it also saves so much time because I can get other things done while it's mixing. I haven't used a hand mixer since I bought this.

I love my Kitchenaid mixer too! I've had it for years. Do you use any attachments? I occassionally make homemade pasta by hand (yes I'm Italian) and thought about buying some attachments to the Kitchenaid to save time and a little elbow grease. Have you used any of these attachments?

I love tupperware....I like the microwaveable stuff.  We always have leftovers and tupperware usually last, if something happens to it usually they will replace it free.

I use the pasta attachments. My husband bought them for me last year and I've been making homemade pasta since then. I also have the food grinder attachment. I used to use it a lot to make baby food.

I am a big baker, on my days off, I love to cook and bake, my wife loves it when I have supper all ready for her when she gets home from work, I try to make healthy things, like pork and chicken dishes, but I also love to bake cookies, pies, cakes, and I even have made a few batches of different types of biscotti, which my wife loves to eat with her chai.  I love my hand mixer, and I always use my measuring spoons and plastic measuring cups.  I am the type of person who loves to tweek a recipe to my own individual tastes.

I agree with the Kitchen Aid mixer.  I inherited one from a relative (she got a new one and gave me her old one). I love it!

But another thing I cannot bake without are my silicone baking mats.  My cookies never burn and always come out perfect.  And I never have to grease my cookie sheets anymore which is a huge plus.  They are expensive but well worth the investment.

Baking first and foremost is the KitchenAid Mixer. What did we do without it?

I also just got the Cuisinart 4 cup food chopper. Wow - what an amazing tool! I use nuts a lot in my baking (brownies, breakfast pastries, etc.) and get so sick of the chopping. This little guy makes perfectly sized pieces in about 4 seconds (am not exaggerating!).

While not a supply, I add cinnamon to many recipes. Anyone else have a "signature spice" that they can't resist throwing in?

I just bought a new attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer.  It is a new paddle with spatula like material on the outer perimeters.  It constantly scrapes the side of he bowl while mixing which is awesome.  You can buy them for a 5 or 6 qt bowls. I tried it and it worked fine while I was trying a new cookie recipe of the back of the toffe bits bag.  I switched it up a little and added only half of the bag and added a half bag of milk chocolate chips.  The deparment loved them.

We've watch Food-TV, too!

I love the Un-wrapped show that shows how some traditional manufactured foods are made.

A 2.2 million dollar continuous feed oven. Really?

That's hot (arr. arr. arr...)!

We also saw a great trick when doing baking in our own stove.

Would you believe oiled parchment paper?

Worked GREAT for the Bisquick Bread sticks.

The bottoms didn't brown too much, or stick to the bake pan, or noth'n like that.
