After years of having our loan "safely" mortgaged at our credit union, we stupidly took a risk and went with a company we heard about on a local Christian radio station - big mistake. It had a ARM attached to it that almost killed us. When it kicked it - it kicked us in a big way - dramatically.
Fortunately, I guess, a broker phoned us and got us hooked up with Countrywide. A wonderful appraiser came out and we were set...everything went smoothly. There have been no problems...until we decided we wanted to borrow a little more money to add on a laundry room where our deck is.

Countrywide Mortgage has been fair and helpful in a slow economy.
Besides the fact that I have used them for a wholesale lender they have had my personal mortgage for the past 10 years. They are fantastic for servicing your mortgage needs and I have never had a problem they could not solve.
As a current owner of a Countrywide mortgage, I was very disappointed when we had to enter into negotions to lower our rates three consecutive times. We were plagued by incorrect and inconsistent information being sent on forms that we were expected to sign, being told several times that everything was all set,only to be turned down because our income wasn't enough. Keep in mind that I am already paying on a Countrywide mortgage which was current!
mortage is not real compareabel, when we call the service is bad. so we give up to call them agian. bad
