I have used this set several times when I have accidentally rounded off a bolt or a nut and it has been very successful when I can get it on the nut or bolt. Sometimes I have to grind down the bolt to fit the socket on but when i do it comes right off.
Bolt out tools work on striped head bolt very good. striped head bolt like oil drain bolt on oil pan, lug nuts on wheels, etc.
The Bolt out set is a real life saver on rounded/rusted bolts. Every tool box should have one.

Bought bolt out to get a rounded nut off, I got it off.
I bought this product when it was first introduced as a five piece kit. Since then it has been an invaluable tool in my garage. Forget those tools that have a cluster of pins in an over-sized socket. Simple is better. The bits (for lack of a better turn) are small and can fit into either a socket or a wrench. I used to use torches and vice grips always busting my hands open. Nut busters and carbon cut off wheels are nice when you have room, but then you have to worry about damaging the threads. Save yourself allot of headache. You will wonder how you ever got along without it.
The craftsman 13 piece bolt out set has saved me and my friends hundreds of dollars. I have removed bleeder valves from calipers, screws from tailgates, rounded lug nuts, and countless other things with the bolt outs in this set. It covers a wide range of sizes, and although I have hammered them on in one or two cases the flutes remain as sharp as they were the day I bought them. There is no doubt in my mind that these are an incredible value for what they cost in cash.
