Good Wrench for the Price

This wrench has worked well for me. No leaks with good power at an affordable price. This thing has no problem removing lugs. It even zipped off a camshaft sprocket with no problems. The ceramic beads really do help with noise reduction. If you want a better wrench you might find it for 75-100 dollars...

Most Helpful Critical Review

I bought this impact gun not quite a year ago. It's primary use is at my job. I am a mechanic and needed a tough impact gun for heavy duty use. This gun started out to be just the tool I needed. Powerful, quiet, smooth and quick. However, after using it for about five months but not every day, I started...

Well made, does the job

This is the first impact wrench I've ever used. This wrench seems well made, quite powerful, and easy to use. I used it replace a set of struts. There were a couple of nuts I could not loosen with my 18" bar, but this wrench had no trouble with them. The forward torque is adjustable over a wide range. I used the medium setting for everything. Be sure to wear hearing protectors with these. Although it seemed quieter than others I've heard, my ears were ringing that evening. My setup includes a 1960's era Crafstman, 120psi pump (courtesy of an older neighbor). I used a 25', 1/4" air hose, and it... read full review »

The Craftsman 1/2 in Heavy Duty impact Wrench is a good tool for the price.  It has a strong reverse for removing nuts.  There are three forward adjustments to it allows the operator to use different settings for the desired torque tightness required for the specific operation.

The tool is very reliable all it needs is the necesasary lubrication and the tool will last a long time.  I have one similar to the one I just purchased.  The one I purchased about 5 years ago is still working very good.  Like I say all it needs is the necessary lubrication and you will have a good wrench for years...

With in a week of owning this impact gun I used it to install a lift on a 04' Grand Cherokee. It broke all the factory nuts that were required to install the lift. Good balance when handling, nice trigger feel and not overly loud. Seems to be well built for the money. I've used other lower priced impact guns, which work ok for the price however, you get what you pay for. Purchased online during a sale. Shipped quickly within 3 days.

Couldn't Restore the Nova Without it

This is my first impact wrench and an everyday tool in my garage. I'm restoring a 1970 Chevy Nova. That's 40 years old folks. Some of the nuts and bolts have never been off the car. This wrench has made easy work of the dis-assembly. I'm sure it will come in handy when the time comes for assembly. Overall, I'm very happy with this tool. I could have spent much more money but chose Craftsman for the reputation, quality and price.

Good Power, Great Value

I had a countershaft sprocket that i couldn't remove regardless what I tried. Propane tourch, PB Blaster, breaker bar with cheater pipe. And the Craftsman $40 half inch impact wrench. Nothing budged it.

So I went and picked this up for $120 including taxes and five minutes later I had the sprocket off. I couldn't be more pleased,

I'm sure you may need more power for heavier vehicles, but for motorcycles and other power sports machines, this should fit the bill. Just stay away from that $40 dollar wrench, it's just not a useful tool.

This impact wrench is a very good buy for anyone needing an impact. I would compare this impact right up there with any ingersoll rand I have used ingersolls at work and this craftsman impact is awesome. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the finish on the outside. I slid it across the garage floor and it scratched the coating right off. If craftsman comes up with the same impact and a tougher coating then I would definitely give it 5 stars.

I bought this tool after doing a quick comparison of impact wrench reviews.  It was rated fairly well and it was on sale so I ordered it online and picked it up later that day.  I had a specific need - to remove mower blades from my old Woods 306 - and it worked great.  Plenty of power for the 5/8 inch bolts that had been on there for a long time.  No issues with any air leaks.  Nice and light compared to other impact wrenches I've used.

Awsome Torque

The Craftsman 1/2" Heavy duty impact is great for any shop or home. This Craftsman impact has become my most used impact in the shop and when I help work on my kids cars. I use this impact while working on tractors, brush hogs, mower decks with frozen spindles, sand buggies, quads, gear boxes and much more. I like the quiet exhaust port (it is less noisey than my other impacts in the shop). The Craftsman 1/2" impact has the torque to do the job, yet it is light weight enough to make it very easy to handle, without straining your hand and arm while operating it. The thumb selector on the rear of...

Quality Value wrapped in one

I never had a impact like this one. This is very powerful and great for professional applications such as a auto center in which I use it in. Its great for taking of lugnuts, doing steering and suspension work on a vehicle. It holds up nice compared to Snap-on, Mac and those other expensive brands that you pay for the name. Never had the problem with the swivel leaking air like other consumers complained about thought, I had the impact for almost a year. Great buy!!!

This gun is great. The feel of it is just perfect, the weight to power is just awesome. Like people said the only thing that leaks is the swivel end but thats nothing a little leak tape can't fix. I got this gun today and tried it out and I was amazed at how powerful it was. It snatches those lug nuts off like it wasn't even there. And I was amazed at how cheap it was. I thought that it must be a cheap gun but oh no. I would highly recommend it to any body looking for a air gun.

nice tool

I read all the reviews, did my research and purchased a few different impact wrenches (with the features I needed) in the $100- $200 range to try. This one performed the best and was the best buy for the money. There is no air leaks as other reviews complained about so if this was a problem it's probably been corrected. It is lightweight, compact , has a comfortable grip, quiet, very powerful and well made. Much nicer than more expensive units I tried including the Sears Professional model at $179.99 which is bulky. I have the Sears Professional 150 PSI/25 gal. oil lubed 120V compressor which provides... read full review »
