Craftsman 1 hp CompuCarve Computer-Controlled Compact Woodworking Machine (21754) —

Unfortunately, I was one of the countless consumers that bought into the hype about this so-called amazing machine.  Was I wrong.  I have spent dozens of hours on the phone with tech support trying to get this machine to work properly.  I have wasted far too much time trying to get this machine fix, and far too much money on what turned out to be scrap wood for my fireplace.  They actually sent me someone else's repaired machine as a replacement for my defective machine, instead of a new one!  Even after sending the machine back 3 times for repair, it works for maybe 2 or 3 projects then breaks down again.     Using this machine (or trying to use it), is nothing but frustration, a waste of time, wood and money.  If I could give it less then one star I would!

I was a stone cutter by trade, but always loved wood working projects. I think this person was in a big hurry, to get perfection instantly with that machine, instead of taking his time to red directions and follow directions from online help. There would be no reason for a piece of machinery, made by craftsman, to "break" so many times if properly used. I have never been able to afford a CompuCarve machine, and when I had my monument business for 15 years, I took care of my 110 pound sand pot and used it on every stone I ever cut. I did most of my work for very poor people and only charged for materials and a few dollars for my time. The fulfillment came from the gratitude and looks on their faces when they saw the stones I made for their loved ones, in full color, my hand carved roses looked so real, you could smell the aroma in the air, when you walked by. I am an artist, not a rich person, and it makes me sad, to see some one have a machine to die for, and put it down so bad. Why not just take it back to the store when they got it, and admit they couldn't follow simple directions. Because some people really can, make silk purses out of sow's ears, or should I say delicate roses out of hard gray and black granite, I know, because I did. I just took my time, and threw away a lot of chunks of broken pieces that I practiced on, before I used the expensive final product.
