I was leary about the 10" saw. After using it for my trim. I found it works better than my dewalt miter i replaced with this saw. I was cutting 2x10 on angle with miter and they are perfect. It works so smooth and is light weight to move around. Sears is awesome to deal with as well.. I had broken the handle and took it back to get repaired and they just replaced it with a new one in the box. It was half the money and twice the saw.. **** I would buy another if this one ever wears out. Great value. thanks Sears!!

I bought this when I started putting my woodshop together in my garage. I don't need a super high end saw, yet, but I assume someday I'll upgrade. Until then, this one seems to be working well for me. The only downside that I've experienced is the dust flying all over the place. While some does end up in the dust collection bag, most of it flys about. I just vacuum it up with my shop vac and call it good, though I'm sure that with some creativity it could be easily remedied by the common man. The slide works well and I'm happy that I can cut wider boards. All in all I like this saw.

The saw is good for trim.

The laser is almost worthless, it does not point where the blade will cut the wood.

I looked at several different saws and decided on this craftsman sliding 10" compound miter. Cut perfect right out of the box w/o any adjustments. It's a great saw for the DIY around the house. I hooked up my shop vac insteed of the dust bag. Sear's needs to design the next model so a shop vac hose will slide on w/o an adapter. I would highly recommend this saw to anyone.

This saw made remodeling my basement a breeze! Excelent ease of use. My only complaint is that the dust collector does not prevent sawdust from spreading arround the saw, but with a shopvac that was not such a big deal.

Ordered the saw based on reviews and price. I was very pleasantly surprised... barely any assembly required, everything is solid. Checked a few measurements with a square and almost everything is spot on from the factory. Solid metal construction throughout except handles and motor housing. Well worth the money, and beautiful. Recommendation - purchase a finishing blade to go with the one that this saw comes with....

I bought this saw for my husband for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it! He uses it for every kind of household chore can. From rebuiling closet shelves, to cutting tile for re-flooring, this tool can do it all. We have not had any problems with it yet, although I did purchase the Sears warranty with it just in case. I would definitely recommend this product to both anyone who likes to do home improvements themselves, and to someone that does carpentry work for a living.

We've owned this saw for nearly two years now, and it works just as well today as it did the day we purchased it.

We use the saw nearly every weekend on large projects, cutting everything from 45-degree angles on pressure-treat 2x10 planks to fine finish work in oak and cedar.

The saw runs smoothly, is easy to set up, and just does the job. It is a joy to use.

I did plenty of research before purchasing, and was a bit worried that this would feel cheap or not last, but it performs as well as a saw costing much more, and has lasted through 2 years of hard use so far. Everything else we looked at in this price range was junk.

I bought this to replace an older 10" Craftsman miter saw that has been used and nearly wore out after over 12 years. It still works well - but there was a sale! For me, once I got a miter saw it became a go-to tool if I needed to cut a board. I've done a lot of remodling and trim work and one of these tools is a must have. It makes quick work of triming studs, rafer ties, window/door headers, trim, fence pickets - whatever. I wanted a sliding miter because I got tired of flipping 2x8 and up boards for a quick crosscut. Not a big deal if it's 3' long but a big deal if your 2x10 is 20' long. The included extensions are handy to have. The laser seems pretty accurate and as noted in other reviews is on the left. You have better visibility of your cut on the left of the blade anyway, laser or not. I will still go by my carefully measured imprecise pencil lines. I did tweak the alignment a little, but it was pretty close out of the box. A framing square, a piece of 2x12...

I needed a good saw for my dad to be able to finish a home addition project on my house. He's great at home construction projects and when Sears had this one on sale, I took his advice and bought it. We compared others on sale but this was the best all around. Even he was surprised at how good this Craftsman saw was out of the box. The only part that was disappointing was the 'dust' collector but, we used it outside so it really wasn't a big deal....

I hate this miter saw, I should return it when I bought it, the switch stays on and I have to unplug it to turn it off, it never makes a square cut, the safety device doesn't work smoothly. I don't recommend this product to anyone. Dust collector never gets any dust in it.

i recently upgraded from the 7 inch craftsman miter saw to this one and it was night and day . this saw is great i use it for masonry work , the sliding blade makes for a perfet cut every time and it cuts through the brick like nothing . as for the laser it gets dirty real quick from the brick dust but thats a minor detail for me . all in all in my opinion this is a great product i am very happy with it

I've had this saw for about a year now and I'm generally pleased with it. It is accurate and works great for cutting molding, baseboards, and general cross-cutting. It is light enough to be portable, but solid enough to make clean cuts.

The integral laser is accurate, but the lens needs to be cleaned frequently during heavy use (it is positioned right behind the saw blade and catches a lot of dust and debris) and is hard to see when working in direct daylight. This isn't a deal-breaker, but it is inconvenient.

The only other problem I've had with the saw is with the system used to lock the saw into intermediate-angled cuts. The screw shaft is held in place with a plastic housing that broke under normal use. I was able to get it back together with a little epoxy (I was in the middle of a job and didn't have the time to lose by taking it back to Sears) but the break could have been avoided by using more durable (metal) parts.
