Great Little Saw

Have owned this saw for several years. The stand has never been out of the box and the original blade has never been used. I wanted a small saw that I could easily carry around for odd jobs and backyard projects(my main tablesaw weighs as much as some families, with a blade that cost as much as this... read full review »

Normal use, blown motor

I have a lot of Craftsman tools, and this may be the worst of them all. Granted, it is not a top of the line item, but I would have expected a lot longer life from this one. I was cutting a piece of pine and the motor blew with a big blue puff of smoke. When I bought the saw , I got the two year extended... read full review »

good table saw bad service.

I bought this saw as something that would be small and portable but still do everything I needed. It can cut and rip as well as would be expected from a bench top saw, However do not buy this saw if you ever want to dado. While the manual mentions an adapter plate for the dado and how to set up the saw, sears dose not carry an adapter insert. After one wrong part was shipped and trying to explain the problem to a customer service representative in India, barely understanding a word she said, I am completely fed up with sears customer service. The saw performs well but don't expect to find any accessories.... read full review »

Excellent Saw At Low Price

I got this saw on sale and clearance for $41. Hard to believe but true. Join the Craftsman club! This little saw is my first table saw and is going to stay in my shop for the foreseeable future. I have built and entire kitchen with it and it works great. Granted, i did upgrade the saw with homemade jigs (fold down outfeed, stand with a drawer for dust removal, zero clearance throat plate, and a cross cut sled). You should read the reviews carefully as the tool is only as good as the person using it. The blade is acceptable but not great. I used a gauge and the run out on mine was .004 out of alignment.... read full review »

its a poor craftsman who blames his tools

Great little saw for the handyman. Able to do many things that the bigger units can do, it just takes a little imagination. In the short time I have owned it, I have a dining room table made from oak and am currently working on a matching bench. Made many step stools, many dadoes and angles and really like this unit. Most of my tools are Craftsman and would not trade any of them, they simply do what they were made to do. (In the right hands)

this product is poor performance

I bought this table saw a few years ago. I used this table saw less than 10 times. I tried to ripped 1 1/2 inch thick of pine wood. I must to reset the power many times in order to finish a 8 ft length rip. The motor just burnned out. The cost of replace the motor is kind of high for the price of this table saw.

Not recommended, even for beginners

This saw was a great price, but you get what you pay for. The cheaper construction didn't bother me, except for the worthless miter gauge. What did bother me, and the reason I am going to return this saw, is the blade adjustments. The blade alignment rod strap bolts were so tight that while trying to loosen them, the hex wrench bent and stripped the hex hole in the bolt making adjustments impossible. Great deal for a saw if you never plan to adjust the blade, or if accurate cuts are unimportant to you.

I received this saw as a chrismas gift and the switch went bad within weeks. The motor just burned up while trying to rip a short piece of 2x4. I have not used this saw heavy or abused it, but it just cannot handle anything but the most lightweight work. DO NOT purchase this saw if you do anything other than very lightweight work on an infrequent basis.

craftsman table saw

It is a nice lightweight model. It cuts well. Improvements could be made on the angle/height adjustment knob-too flimsy. Good table saw for the price.

fair

I purchased this saw to rip some one bi's to trim a door. I went on a serious hunt to find the dado insert to do more wood work and to my surprise the insert is nowhere to be found. How is it possible that there are no accesible parts for this product? If Sears doesn't have the accesories where are they obtained from. I called the repair center for some assistance and I was informed that if it's not on the part list then there was nothing that could be done. OH WELL!

Great for me

I had a hard time getting the adjustments just right but after that, I haven't had one problem. Be careful as it is a little top heavy. There's no weight at the bottom so cutting big or heavy peices could tip it. It's a bit loud but what guy cares if his power tools are loud. I built a huge work bench with it and made plenty of cuts. For $150, you can't beat this table saw.

All great except....

I had a very hard time lining up the blade and "guard" system, which made it hard for the work to pass by the blade with ease. It came to the point that I had to take the guard off completely. Not recommended for the big projects, but for the smaller, quick cuts, it's a great value.

great value

This is a great value for the weekend project person. It is light weight and easy to setup yet still sturdy enough to handle the job at hand.
