I have spent many hours washing and waxing my cars. So when I had a chance to purchase this buffer at half price, I thought I would give it a try.

One should not expect to be a pro with this right out of the box. The buffer does have a learning curve. It takes some time to figure out how much wax to...

Most Helpful Critical Review

The 10 in. buffer/polisher comes in a great all-in-one storage bucket with two bonnets each: applicator bonnet, terry cloth bonnet, buffing bonnet, and a hand applicator sponge. An excellent value, if only it worked for what it was intended. The motor on the buffer is not powerful enough to polish or...

I purchased this buffer for my car and have used it several times and am very happy with the results it gives.

The Craftsman 10 in. Buffer/Polisher is easy to use and it is quit. The shin on my car after using the buffer was great. It made my car look like it came of the show room floor.

I purchased this buffer only because it was on sale, so wasn't expecting much. This turned out to be a great product! It's lightweight, so easy to handle. It did a fantastic job on my boat. All the bonnets were included too.

I was looking for months for an orbital buffer to polish my 1990 MB car. Sears had it in stock one day. I did not regret buying it. It was easy to use it. It is light, easy to manuever, and enough power. My car is shiny now - looks new.

As the owner of a new Volkswagen GTI, it was pretty much imperative that I'd need something better than old towels and ripped up sweatpants to clean and polish my new ride. Before this I'd always owned used cars where appearance wasn't necesarily a priority (or even a requirement!) I'd been looking for a quality polisher/buffer so that I could clean up my last hand waxing job, as well as put a good shine on the car for a while to come.

I usually pull out the Sunday ads and flip through them, my girlfriend and I have a Sunday ritual where we pull all the ads up and divide them up: mine are tools,...

10 in buffer/polisher

The design of the polisher may be consistent with today's style. However, it still seems bulky and the terrycloth bonnets that are included and the wool polishing bonnet and of such cheap quality. Not only that, but you have to fight to get them on the wheel. They are stretched so tight I believe it interferes with the quality of the finish. I used it for about 3 swipes across the tailgate of my truck and stopped, packed it up. I won't use it again. I will give it to someone. The time to return has run out. I also believe the polish bonnet should be microfiber, not terry. Much, much better job... read full review »

Very Satisfied.

Today a friend and I used this buffer on a black Taurus and my black C5 Corvette. We apply a paint cleaner/scratch remove, nothing aggressive, just an over-the-counter product that is typically applied by hand. Then we followed up with a good coat of wax. The results were stunning on both cars! I'm very impressed. The buffer is simple to use (although a bit large for tight spots!) and is safe for vehicle paint. I highly recommend a reusable 10 inch foam pad for application of paint cleaner and waxes. You can find them at any auto parts store. This model is a single speed, so it won't be suitable... read full review »

I HAVE THE OLDER MODEL 10" BUFFER. I LIKE THE LONGER CORD RATHER THAN THE PIG TAIL.  MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN TRYING TO FINE REPLACEMENT PADS, THEY DONOT EXIST.  SEARS USED TO STOCK THEM, BUT NOT ANYMORE.  AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS TO SEARS HEADQUARTERS I FINELLY WAS CONNECTED WITH A KNOWLEGEABLE PERSON.  THE PADS HAVE TO NOW BE ORDERED FROM SM ARNOLD, WHO MAKES THEM FOR SEARS.  SEARS IS NOT STOCKING THE 10".....BUT STILL SELLING THE 10" BUFFER????  THE NEW PADS FIT A 9"AND 10", HOWEVER IT'S A BATTLE TO GET IT ON A 10".

Don't bother.

When I first turned it on, it shook the bonnet off and flung it across the garage - that should have been my first clue. After I retrieved the bonnet and realized the tool needs to be sitting on the car when you turn it on, it only removed about 30-40% of the wax haze from my car; all it really did was make my hands hurt from the vibration. I still had to go back over the entire car by hand to remove the wax, so what's the point of buying the buffer? Save your 50 bucks.

Great Product

I think the buffer does an excellent job. This is my second 10"Sears buffer. I gave the first one to a friend and he likes it very much. He has even buffed floors with his. The person who could not get it back in the bucket is not replacing it properly. Hold up top of buffer and place the electrical cord down in the rounded corner. It fits fine. FKW

Buy 2

Performs fine and orbital motion works great. However on anything but a new car, more effort is needed for a good application of cleaner/polish/wax and this little motor can overheat and burnout. Buy a scond one to use while the first one has a chance to cool down, then alternate between the two when using them.

Average Buffer, Poor Engineering

The buffer itself is fine performance-wise. I have used this buffer on numerous vehicles and paint colors, including my current deep black truck without fear of swirls or burns. As with many Craftsman POWER tools, it seems to have been made with built-in failure intent. Among the most notable engineering error is the case, which requires one to bend the power cord at an almost 90 degree angle sharply to fit inside. I have had to repair the power cord three times so far over the years, as this bend will cause a wire failure.

Awesome purchase

I recently purchased and used this buffer and was very pleased with its performance. The kit provideds everything that you need to wax your vehicle (minus the wax). The buffer saved me hours of time and did a fantastic job on my custom SUV.
