great saw

I just laid a floor this past year with this saw to help cut the flooring. It did a great job and I would highly recommend this saw.

The ability to easliy adjust to miter or cut and the ability to easily move it from one area of the job to another was great. This saw is precise and work well in many...

Most Helpful Critical Review

Bought this saw 4+ years ago, but it didn't get used much until recently. (Overall it probably hasn't been used more than a dozen times.) The other day I noticed the blade binding and slipping while cutting a 2x6. Upon examination I found the laser guide case was cracked. On further examination the bolt...

Great Saw

I bought this for my husband for father's day. He really wanted one so he could do our laminate floors himself. I bought this thinking we would just return it and he would end up hiring someone to do the job. To my surprisement he loved the saw. It was the perfect size for everyday house repairs and the laser makes it very easy to use. We loved the craftsman miter saw!

laser easily misaligned

While overall, I am happy with the saw, I found that after several uses, the laser no longer aligned with the edge of the blade. The cut was actually to the right of the laser line by about 1/8". Although the manual says that the laser is not user adjustable, figured out how to do it. If you remove the guard, you gain access to the adjustment screws, which can be turned to adjust both the side to side position and also pivot the laser so it is square. However, I found that the slightest touch is enough to knock it out of line. It would be better if the mounting were more solid, so that the beam... read full review »

Very nice Saw

I got this saw on sale a few months ago. Overall this is an excellent saw. I purchased this model due the strong base of the saw. I liked the angle stops because they were accurate and positive. This saw is very easy to use and extremely ergonomic. The adjustable angle hand grip and trigger is a nice feature. The laser is ok and It's a little hard to see in direct sunlight. The dust collection unit works good but I still want to hook it up to my shop vac. If you compare this unit to the others in the same price range you'll find this has the most features and best quality.

Spot on saw, highly recommend

Great saw. This was a gift, but over a year and a cross country move happened before using it on a big project. 1400 SF of hardwoods later I can say that I am extremely happy. My wife is even comfortable using the saw as the laser greatly helps new users. This saw even impressed a professional floor layer. My only beef is the stand as it takes up room I hope Sears sells a stand in the future that also has storage underneath (like the table saw I recently picked up), or a retractable (yet sturdy) stand.

Easy to setup and use - Laser dim and not true

The saw has worked great for every project I have tackled. The assembly was less than 15 minutes and very easy. The only negative I can mention is the laser. It is extremely dim and cannot be seen in normal daylight and even though the instructions said it should be factory set accurate mine was about 1/4 in to the left. The two things are not make or break items but worth mentioning.

Excellent choice!

While I am not an expert Craftsman, I relied on the objective reviews to guide me to the purchase of this saw. This saw was easy to set up and use with accuracy right out of the box for my base board work and for other random construction. The stand is ergonomically appropriate for aged folks like me, and the saw powerful enough to work well within it's design range. I may have opted for the slider version to increase range, but I have other options that work just as well, increase range, reduce set-up time, and increase my tool inventory for the same cost.

Excellent Value

This is a great saw value. I had been using a $99 competitive saw for several years. For very little more money (on sale) this saw is much more durable and a much better value. The lever action miter lock and up front bevel lock are very convenient. As others have mentioned, it does take time to adjust the saw out of the box, and the total lack of usable instructions for aligning the laser is surprising in a Craftsman product. My only problem so far has been the laser unit failing. I am waiting to see how well the warranty coverage is on the laser.

Craftsman 10" Miter Saw w/ Stand

Had to return first one since the horizontal angle andjust knob broke after using only for about a day. Maybe this was my fault for tightening too hard. However, that shouldn't happen regardless. Returned for a new one and has worked great ever since. Used it to cut molding and trim while remodeling my kitchen. This saw is a great value. Just need to invest in a blade with more teeth for finer cuts/trim work.

This one will help you finish out the job

I got it from the store and put it together in 15 minutes. I used it to build a 14 x 10 cover patio with ease. The stand keep you up right and help make the cut very clean and easy. The laser helps guide the cut precisely. This one is worth having around the house. All you need to do is mark your wood and cut, no straight edge required.

Good Value

I've owned this saw for about two years and have completed several projects including a bar, coffee table, shelving units, and many other small projects. Good points: --The laser is overall good - once you adjust it correctly. I think craftsman did a good job of making the adjustments intuitive and adequately precise. The problem with the laser, I have found, is that it requires fine tuning at the onset of each new project or; it isn't "set the laser after unpacking the saw, and forget about it." Another small problem with the laser involves the on/off switch; it is possible to move the laser-unit... read full review »

Another Craftsman hit

After cutting molding the old fashioned way, with a manual saw and miter box, I decided it was time to make my life easier. The quick-cam miter lock makes changing angles a breeze. The handle is adjustable to your hand so it's very comfortable to use. Even the dust collection bag does a decent job. The only knock on this saw could be the laser trac. Until I got this saw I didn't understand why anyone would ever need a laser trac. Then, right in the middle of a job, mine stopped working and I discovered how quickly I had become dependent on it. It was, of course, under warrantee and quickly replaced.... read full review »

5 stars

Great saw out of the box. Very dependable. The laser is right on the money with the center of the blade. I have several different Craftsman tools and would not take anything for them.

Great value for the price.

Stand is a little low, but better than nothing. Easy to use. I want to upgrade the blade to a 60T or 80T for finer cuts. Adjustable handle is great.

Great Saw

I use the saw for small projects around the house, It has worked great for just about everything. I would probably go with a slider or 12" saw next time. I've had one occasion where the larger blade would have been helpful.
