Worked just as you would hope

I make my living as a "real" mechanic so I know tools. I had a corroded bolt on a tranny housing that would not budge. I had already broken two 6 point sockets...which had rounded the bolt off when they gave way. The situation got worse with each attempt to break the bolt free. I was about to grind...

Low Rate tool NO WARRANTY

I was given this set as a gift and it is trash. The socket I was using split down the side and blew apart. These are supposed to be impact quality THEY ARE NOT. Had I been using an impact wrench I would have had half the socket imbedded in my skull. I was using a 3/8 breaker bar. I took them back to... read full review »

Worked well at removing broken stud, but difficult to put on in a tight spot.

While removing my spark plugs I managed to round off the hex nut on one of the plugs making it imposible to remove the plug from the head.  To make things more difficult the plug sat deep in the head, significantly restricting access by anything other than a deep socket on an extention.  This extractor set was perfect for the job, unlike most other extractors, these allow the use of a 3/8 socket wrench and extention bar to permit a deep reach.  I had the plug out in no time and saved me the cost of an otherwise expensive repair.

great product

After spending nearly one month trying to remove a bolt from my transmission housing, I was referred to bolt-out. The bolt in question was very rounded from all the previously failed attempts (I'd tried twice along with two different auto mechanics--one of which was the dealership). Five minutes with the bolt-out and the bolt was out. great product. FYI, had to hammer the bolt-out socket onto the bolt in order for it to bite.

nuke pump

Our pump had 8 bolts with rounded off heads. While turning socket with wrench my pal would hit top of socket with short handled maul. We did split the 1st socket and my Lancaster county Sears replaced the set. My work place (nuke plant) wants to buy another set for an up coming job.

Not for impact use!

Craftsman claims that this set is impact-grade, yet the second time I used my 13 mm bolt-out it blew in half as soon as hit the trigger on my impact wrench! To add insult to injury I brought it into Sears only to find out it had no warranty. The design does a great job of removing rounded off and rusty fasteners, but the material it is made of is far too brittle and too thin. If you own this set stick to hand tools, but if you don't avoid it and buy the standard bolt-out instead.

The Right Tool For The Right Job!!

I lost the key for the lug nut locks on my car. Tried different options and none of them worked. With this set in less than 10 sec per nut I was done!!! I did not used an impact gun but gat the job done quick and safe with no damage to the rims. THANKS!!!

Excellent tool

I used this impact tool set to remove hardened, rusted nuts off '66 Corvair head studs shipped to me from Wisconsin(even after reading the negative reviews). These tools worked flawlessly, and saved a good set af aluminum cylinder heads from destruction from the grinder or torch. And, they looked like new after removing 12 seized, rusted, rounded over, torqued-on, 41 year old nuts. Highly recommended. Tony H.

No Warrenty

Didn't stand up to an Air ratchet. And had no warranty. Be careful ask about the warranty before you buy.

Dont Buy This !!!No Warrenty!!!

I used the 13mm bolt remover for the first time and it worked great (Mind you they claim it can be used with an impact gun). Craftsman claims that it has a "Guarenteed Forever" hand tool polocy come to find out that this hand tool does not. I used the 13mm bolt remover the second time and it sheared the sockets insides out like it was butter. I get to the store to find out that it is a non guarenteed item and might i add the guy was very rood about me asking for a warrenty exchange. So I would not buy this item again and I would watch out for the misconseption about "Guarenteed Forever" on hand... read full review »
