I Love my Craftsman 19.2V "Cordless" Buffer!!! I've had more fun buffing\polishing up my cars, cast iron stationary tool table tops and yep, even my gorgeous granite kitchen counter tops! The freedom and ease of getting any of these surfaces to a deeper and smoother shine is really amazing! The buffer...

Top Heavy

I bought this as a complement to my 10" corded buffer thinking that it would be easier to buff the sides of my vehicles with this one.  (I'm tall, bend over to do the sides, and have a bad back.) It's actually harder. I use the C3 NiCad batteries from my drill and they are so heavy that they make...

Craftsman 11597 19.2-volt C3 Cordless Orbital... Reviews

I received this for Christmas and I love it.  It cut the waxing time of my wife's Jeep by 2/3's! The only 2 cons are the pads that come with it and that it's made in china.  I plan on using some elastic microfiber pads for my truck.  The Li-ON battery does the entire Jeep Liberty on a single charge with time to spare.  This is another great C3 product!

This little buffer worked wonders on my pickup finish. Saved my back and no aching shoulders. Once you get the feel for it, it just about does the job for you. Very good product.

This product is easy to use and convenient with no cord to get in your way.  The design of having to tie on and tuck the cord up and under the bonnet is a pain and often takes time and the cord with come out.  I think the product can have a better design such as velco pads that slap on and off like a sander.

Other than the design flaw with the bonnet, this things has the power to do a great job, ei:  waxing a polishing a vehicle.  I waxed and polished 5 vehicles this summer and used this buffer on each one.  Saves on the muscles quite a bit.

The Craftsman 19.2 volt C3 cordless 6" orbital buffer/polisher is a great tool for the money. We do alot of car polishing and it works fantastic and it's size makes it very maneuverable. Not to be fighting with a cord is a "dream come true." We only wish it had better battery life so that we didn't have to change batteries. In the C3's defense we do have large vehicles.

Another good C3!

This buffer is perfect for what I bought it for, buffing my Jeep Wrangler and polishing our glass top range. Yes, I said glass top range. Anyone who owns this type of range knows that food can get baked on to that glass! A little buffing compound made for glass tops and 2 minutes later you're done. It took me 10 minutes before by hand. As for the pads that it comes with falling off, I haven't had a problem. Maybe Sears heeded the reviews from the past and fixed the problem. The buffers shape makes it nice to hold, and the battery on top adds enough weight so you don't have to press down on it.... read full review »

Freedom at last

Freedom from the extension cord, that is. I had a 10" electric, but it was overkill for me. Downsized to a 6" electric. Worked well, but hated the cord. Started a C3 tool set and knew I had to have this polisher. I wax my vehicles quite frequently, so being a little under powered isn't issue. Works very well for me. Good value for the money.

Good bang for the buck!

I used my Craftman Club card for this unit. Less then 30 bucks. Haven't used the supplied bonnets as I hate draw strings(-1 star). Went on the net and picked up some 6" Microfiber, Terry cloth, foam Bonnets, and a Lambswool 6 Inch Leveling Pad. Around 30 bucks, + a 6" Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate. Around 20 bucks. As you can see, spent more on pads than the hardware to turn them. The unit is built well and you'll need 2 batteries for a mid sized car. The quick charger will have the other battery waiting, if you want to do more.... With the correct pads this unit will do the job.... read full review »

Good Compact Buffer.

Overall I like the buffer. The only con I would like to mention is the pads can come off rathar easily while using it.

Perhaps a elastic type would be better, rather than the tie on type it comes with.

Very easy to use, it's great not having a cord for this type of tool.

Finally FREE!!!

Finally no more 100ft extension cord, no more tangles and most importantly I can finally polish/buff anywhere.  I don't have the luxary of a garge or drive way,  now with this tool I can buff anywhere and everywhere.  No more waiting for a parking spot in front of the house, throwing the cord out the window.  I can buff the car at the car wash, park, and even at the car shows...

polishing&buffing pad

the pads that come in the box with the unit will not stay on the mount.I do not know whether they scrimped to save a penny or what but try as you may you cannot get the string under the bonnet and tight enough to make it stay on. If you purchase the pads off the shelf - they work fine! Go figure!

Adequate and surprising

I was a bit wary about downsizing to a 6 inch buffer, but to my surprise it made quick work of things. It is a peppy buffer and light enough to use. The smaller size allows easy manipulation around extended appendages of a vehicle which my older larger buffer struggled with. I would have given this a full 5 stars, except that the applicator pad accompanied with the buffer is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch to short and the pad can't be snuggly fit on the buffer. The violent buffing action eventually encourages the pad to migrate off the buffer, requiring repeated stopping and re-tightening. I am searching... read full review »

Easier Yes, Faster......?

First let me start out by saying this is a very good buffer (my first). It has enough "umph" to it, but not too much as to damage your vehicle. Plan on going through 2 batteries per use, although I do have a full size truck, so maybe smaller vehicles can get by with 1. Also, I like to use a very thick carnuba wax, so removing it in general is a little more laboring. So, all in all, it is definitely easier to remove wax (you can also apply), but keep in mind it may not necessarily save you time. I would definitely buy again.

Excellent OBT

I absolutley love this random orbital buffer/polisher. It performs as good as corded one without the trouble (or price). As mentioned in previous reviews, the included pads are worthless, but here is the good news. It works very well with the Black and Decker 6" pads.

I use B&D PN# 95-043 for application of wax/polish and B&D PN# 95-041 for final buffing/polishing after the wax dries. I use this on my Honda S2000 (aluminum/steel) to my wife's tanning bed (acrylic). If your car has those cloudy acrylic headlight lens covers and if they are not too angled, it should work there as well (instead of...
