Strong Little Grinder for the Money

This little grinder has plenty of torque and doesn't bind when under a load. I used this grinder to cut through 3/16" steel and it worked very well. When I bought my grinder a little over a month ago, it came with a case, 2 grinding wheels, and a steel brush. I think this will be a good addition to my... read full review »

4" Grinder

This grinder has served me very well so far until I had to go purchase another cup wheel. I went to multiple stores, including SEARS first, looking for the attachment. There were plenty of wheels in stock but unfortunately this is not a 5/8" arbor. Even though it has had enough power for what I need...I... read full review »

Great angle grinder

I have had no issues so far out of this angle grinder.  My dad owned a craftsman for 15 years and it is still running.  So why not buy one.  I picked this one up at the scratch and dent store for 60% off might want to check that out.

The Craftsman 4" angle grinder is perfect for both large and small jobs.  It has plenty of power to do even the hardest projects.  It won't let you down.  It also has a wonderful warranty incase the need were to arise.  Highly recommended product.

VERY inconvenient

The spindle is NOT 5/8 11TPI, like 99% of all grinders and accessories. It is a metric M10 1.5. Used up the wire brush that came in the kit and found it is next to impossible to find replacement. Ended up having to mail order an adapter while my project sits "in progress" due to not being able to source local supplies. Even though it says so in the description, it is NOT 5/8 11TPI!

Great value!

Had this grinder for about 4 years now and have had only one problem with it. About two years in the powercord went on it somehow, no big deal I had tons of powercords hanging around and fixed it in 10 minuets, didn't cost me a penny. It has more power than I would have expected for the price and it never bogs down even under heavy use. As someone else mentioned the head does get a little hot after being used for long periods of time continuously, but nothing to worry about. I originally bought this to use occasionally but I quickly found out how handy it is and probably use it every other day....

Step up to 4 1/2

Mine broke first day used it. In all fairness to Sears, they made it right quickly. I then got a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and, even though I've beaten on it like a rented mule, it still works. Plus, it's easier to find 4.5 discs.

Good value, disappointing reliability

I'm a blacksmith so I need a grinder for finishing; grinding down rough spots and then wire brushing for the final touch. This grinder is great because of its small size, I can get into tight spots to finish hard-to-reach areas. The only drawback is that the housing keeps oozing out grease after a few minutes of use and the wire brush causes it to vibrate so much that the screws work loose on the guard and the housing; every 10 minutes I have to stop working and tighten them. Again, a good value, but for prolonged brushing I'd suggest a drill attachment

Good little grinder

I have used this for various jobs and it always works well. I especially like the storage/carrying case. Just don't cut plywood with a metal cutting wheel like I did.... talk about stink!

RIGHT TOOL FOR THE PRICE

Performs well for the price and is a good home-handyman tool. ON/OFF "slider" switch takes a little getting used to. Grinder case gets somewhat hot during prolonged use. Side handle is fine but it's hard to find a comfortable grip on the case if you're going to use it very long.
